It took her a week and a half to finish writing. She spent hour upon hours doing her project. It was actually a lot more fun that she thought and she was slightly sad that it was nearly done. She had Chris and her mother help her and had them proofread every chapter. Katherine wanted everything to be detailed and truthful and they didn't blame her. Once she was happy with her hard work, she began printing the book.

After lunch, she texted her friend to meet her at the house. Gina said her and Lee would stop by after their final planning for the wedding. Katherine decided to brew up some coffee for everyone. Her mother, as usual, baked some cookies for them.

"You sure I can do this?" Katherine asked Chris. They were in the study with him typing on the laptop for his business Vamps and her skimming through the book she created. "You are telling the truth in a way. Just remember if she asks about it further, you can't lie." Chris resumed typing. She sighed and took a sip of her coffee.

After a minute of thinking, she said out loud, "Maybe this was a bad idea." Chris stopped typing and looked at her with his brown eyes. "You have to tell her somehow. The idea of telling the truth through a story is fucking genius if you ask me." Chris smiled. She lightly laughed. "I guess your right." She laughed more.

It was after dinner when Gina and Lee showed up. The final planning took longer than they thought. Chris had already went out but this time for work reasons which was unusual for this late at night. Katherine led her friends thought the kitchen. Lee looked around interested. "Did you know I helped build this kitchen?" He asked when he walked in. Gina and Katherine gawked at him.

"No. Why didn't you tell me?" Gina asked curiously. "Well it was when I was helping my brother with construction, remember? We built so many houses but you never told me where your friend was staying until earlier." He said and sat down on one of the island chairs. "Isn't it interesting how things work out?" Katherine's mother asked with a forced smile.

Gina hummed in thought. Katherine knew what she was going to ask. "Have you ever seen Chris Motionless?" Lee didn't answer right away. "I assume I did because he signed papers but I don't remember any of it. All I remember was being in a dazed for a few days after." Lee crossed his arms and sat back against the back of the chair.

Katherine realized Chris must have used his favorite forgetful spell. "Well anyway, enough of talking about him. What did you want to tell me?" Gina took a sip of her coffee. Her mother made herself busy by placing cookie sheets in and out the oven. She placed the freshly baked ones on a cooling rack but a few to each of them.

Katherine inhaled nervously. She slid the book in front of her friend. "I've been thinking of writing again. Remember we use to do that in high school?" Gina smiled probably thinking about it. "Yeah, I would write something and you'd read it and vice versa." Gina looked down at the book. "Love's Curse" she read out loud before looking at her friend again.

"What's it about?" Lee asked resting his arm on the surface. "You'll just have to read it to find out." Katherine smiled nervously. "Let me know when you finished. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it." Gina nodded. "I have all day to be able to read it tomorrow."

The four switched the subject to talking about their wedding. Her mother kept looking at her daughter as if waiting for Katherine to invite them to hers. After an hour, her mother asked if Katherine could help her upstairs for something. The two quickly left to go to the foyer.

"She really doesn't know anything, does she?" Her mother stopped at the top of the stairs. Katherine sighed. "She thinks we met for the first time the other day and were supposedly dating." Her mother sighed. "I feel like this is very dangerous. It's half a lie and half a truth." Her mother said whispering.

"It's something. If Gina questions it further then I'll tell her but for now, she needs to read it." Katherine began walking back downstairs. The door knocked but she instantly knew who it was. "I'll keep them distracted." Her mother whispered quickly before rushing back to the kitchen.

Katherine opened the door and saw her fiancé. "I'm going to have to leave for Chicago. I'll be back tomorrow night." He whispered. His eyes were glowing a dark shade of red. He looked furious. "Employee, I take it?" Katherine asked. He nodded sharply. "Please don't kill anyone like last time." She whispered before kissing him.

"If I have to, I'll definitely be a lot more careful." He gave a twisted smile. Katherine was about to say something when footsteps sounded behind her. She looked to see Lee and Gina were standing by the staircase. Her friend was holding the book.

"We should get going. We have to get up early and double check everything." Lee said tiredly. "I'll read this for a little bit tonight." Gina said holding up the book. "Ok then. Good night, friends." She hugged them before they walked out.

After she shut the door, she assumed Chris had already left. Katherine turned around and was startled to find someone in front of her in the house. Sometimes she hated that he could teleport anywhere. Chris had a playful smile and quickly wrapped his arms around her. "You didn't think I'd leave without saying goodbye, did you?" He said before kissing the side of her face.

"I was hoping you would say it." Katherine wrapped her arms his neck and kissed him. She rested her head against his chest and they stayed there silently for a minute. "Please be extra careful." She finally whispered. "I will." He said and ran his fingers through her hair.

They finally came apart and stared at into each other's eyes. "I love you." He said before kissing her lips. "I love you too." She smiled and returned the kiss. He gave her one last hug before he walked out.
