Katherine debated the rest of the way home if she should be furious or not at Chris. She tried so hard to keep everything a secret and he literally blew that all to pieces. She wondered what went through Chris's mind to even think about talking to her and Gina. Katherine finally came to the conclusion that she should be mad at him. He deserved it after all the hard work of lying to keep a secret.
The second she entered the house, Katherine screamed his name. He appeared at the top of the stairs not even a second later. Katherine's anger blew up by how calm Chris looked. He shoved his tattooed hands in his pocket and tilted his head curiously. "Why did you do that?" Katherine yelled extremely upset. He walked slowly down the stairs not changing his expression and stopped in front of her. Chris towered over her but Katherine didn't feel the least bit intimidated.
"I was protecting you." He said seriously. "Chris, you know how much I've been trying not to tell her." Katherine spoke trying to contain her emotions. She clenched her fists which was the best thing she could do. "If you think you're protecting me because of her religious family, you're wasting your time." Chris crossed his arms. "You thought I didn't know her history? I've lived here in this town all my life." He spoke bitterly. Katherine sighed heavily. "What about when they find out? My one and only friend finds out you're a demon?" She rubbed her temples feeling frustrated.
Chris stood there looking unemotional. Katherine did see a quick flash of his red eyes. "This is the thanks I'm getting for stopping that fucker from killing you two and everyone else in that shop?" Chris finally looked mad himself. "This is your fault! If you hadn't showed up and given me that piece of paper or let that deal go wrong, none of this would be happening!" Katherine stomped her foot down.
They stared at each other for a minute. Chris clenched his jaw and Katherine decided to turn around and walk out the door. He followed her to the vehicle and watched her unlock the door. "Where are you going?" Chris asked firmly. "Anywhere but here. I need to think." Katherine got back in the car and drove off. Chris stood there with his arms crossed thinking how much fun it's going to be to explain to his soon to be mother-in-law about their first argument.
