Gina looked surprised to see Chris again. He didn't seem to show any emotion towards her. It wasn't an awkward silence but there was some tension in the air. Katherine was trying to think of something to say without lying. "I should get going. Lee said there's been a problem." She looked at him in a way that Katherine knew her friend thought of an idea. She was actually glad she didn't have to say anything.
"It was nice to see you again, Mr-" Gina asked innocently. Katherine knew right away what she was doing. Chris gave a too friendly of a smile. "Cerulli." He said. Both girls were surprised. Katherine didn't think he'd give out his real last name willingly and Gina had a feeling the name sounded familiar from something in her family. "Mr. Cerulli. Hope to see you soon at the wedding." Her friend said before Lee and her quickly left. Chris cleared his throat a second later which made Katherine tense up.
The second the front door shut, Katherine looked at him trying to hide her nerves. "You'd find out my real last name eventually." Chris crossed his arms and still continued smiling. She relaxed a little seeing that he didn't look upset. "I never knew you had one. I always thought it was Motionless." She said thinking about her friend looking into his history. It made her both nervous and feeling like she's betraying him. Katherine wondered if she should say something now before it's too late.
Chris became suspicious of the now somewhat awkward silence. He raised his drawn on eyebrow. "Is there something you want to tell me?" He finally asked. "No, just thinking. I'm going to put that book somewhere safe." She said quickly before hurrying back to the kitchen to receive the book. He watched her until she left. Chris had overheard their conversation but he didn't understand who they were talking about and why suddenly Gina had to research said person.
He shrugged to himself thinking it was nothing to worry about. If it was about him then the two wouldn't find anything other than articles about his witchcraft trials. Chris made his way up to the study and sat down at the desk. He rubbed his tattooed hands against the arm of the chair nervously. He had to gather courage and calm his nerves for at least a half hour. "Fuck it." Chris muttered as he picked up the phone on the desk and called someone he hasn't spoken to in years. He either had a deal to finish or break it before Katherine finds out his secret.
