Chapter 26: Seriously Sorry

Your POV

When we arrive at the apartment I flop to the floor exauhsted. I must have looked a state. I'm in a white wedding dress and my face covered in makeup that's been ruined amd smudged because of my crying.

"You looked beautiful in that dress." Gray said walking over and sitting next to me. I smile slightly and use him to rest on slightly.
"Thanks."I mutter "Although. I bet I don't look as beautiful now."I laughed. He smiled lightly.
"You always look beautiful (Y/N), no matter what." He grins.

I look away blushing slightly. I'm now annoyed with myself. Gray's trying his hardest to move on so why can't I? I want to forgive him... I really do... but I just can't.

"Yeah... well...."I try to think of a comeback and I can't. He chuckles and I smile. There's a moment of silence and he looks at me.
"(Y/N)," He mutters, I look up at him and he sighs "I really am sorry. I was stupid to want to forget you. I didn't mean it in a harsh way, I just... I couldn't believe you had forgotten about me. I was angry, I was annoyed. I thought that I meant nothing to you if you could just forget about me that quickly." He paused and looked away "When I said I didn't care, I was lying to myself. Of course I cared, how could I not? You were gone. I was never going to see you again! And that hurt like hell." He muttered. "I'm seriously sorry..." he says. There's a crack in his voice and his face is hidden by his hair.

Wait. Is he crying? Hold on a sec, Gray never cries.
"G-Gray?" I ask softly.
"I don't want to loose you (Y/N). I can't loose you. I'm happy to loose anyone else if it means I can still have you by my side." He mutters. I now see tears falling down his face.
"H-hey... d-don't cry!" I say.

Now I realise, Mira, Guildarts, Gajeel and Cana were right. He didn't mean it. He did care all along.

I shuffle round to the opposite side of him to face him, on the way I kind of trip on the dress but I brush that off and look at him.

"No. I'm the one who should be sorry." I mutter quietly and take his hands in mine "this is all my fault. I've put you through enough, and I never really considered your feelings up until now. So I appologise." I say. He looks at me and shakes his head.
"This isn't your fault! I shouldn't have kissed Erza in the first place! And what I said to Juvia I shouldn't have said!" He says.

I sigh slightly. And place a hand on his face and then wipe his tears.
"Then let's forget about it all."I smile. He looks at me confused.
"What?" He asks.
"Lets forget about it all. Everything. You're sorry, I'm sorry, let's just move on." I say.
"But what about Erza?" Gray asks.

Aquila said that Erza was possessed by another dark key, right? So technically it's not Erza.
"We need to find her tomorrow." I say.
"What?! Why?!" He asks slightly panicked.
"Don't worry I'm not going to hurt her." I say. Although I'm not too sure how true that is, after all the celestial spirit is possessing her, and if she fights we have no choice but to fight back.
"Then why do we need to find her?" He asks.
"Aquila told me that she was possessed by a dark key."
"What like Bellatrix did to you?"
"Sort of. It's possessed some of her undermining emotions, therefore she's not in complete control and reacts in odd ways." I said.
"So is that why she hates you?" He asks. I nod
"Yes. Aquila says that the celestial spirit attacks the friends and family of the mage."I pause "I'm guessing Erza was an easy target as her and I aren't really that close of friends, therefore it would be easy for the spirit to take hold of her feelings from when we first met."

He nods slightly and looks at me.
"Hey (Y/N)?" He asks.
"Yes?" I reply.
"This business about your dad... do you think you'll ever get to meet him?" He asks.
"I guess so. At some point I'll have to take over the throne. And I guess that will be the point." I say "I know he knows about me. After all Aquila made that very clear."
"Yeah I agree."
"Wait? What? How'd you know about my conversation with Aquila?" I asked. He looks at me confused.
"What?"
"You said you agree." I mutter.

Gray POV

"Er... I meant it seems that way. I mean not that I agree or anything, I mean we don't know for sure or anything...Heheh..Heh? " I say trying to cover it up. She sighs slightly.
"Well Aquila says he's had orders from the King to look after me. That shows he knows about me. I guess she can't even be bothered to even see his own daughter." She mutters.

She then looks at me and laughs slightly.
"Sorry! Enough talking about me! It's the anniversary of Ur's death in two days time, right? Do you want to go the beach and lay something down in her memory?" She asks.

I kind of just stare at her. I've told her about Ur. But how the hell does she know when she died? I never told her about that, all I mentioned was that I had a master named Ur and she passed on.

"What's wrong? You seem a bit confused." She says.
"(Y/N)." I say.
"Yes?" She asks worriedly
"How do you know about the date Ur died?" I asked.

She looked a little shocked and then sighed.
"Um there's something I guess I should tell you Gray." She mutters quietly.

XD moving on, I hope you enjoyed that chapter. I ended on the traditional cliff hanger! Hehe sorry about that...
