Chapter 50: I'd prefer you not to

Leo POV

When I return to my gate the first thing I do is walk to the palace. I'm greeted by guards.
"Ah, hello Leo-"
"Where the hell is Aquila?" I say.
"Erm, sir, are you oka-"
"Just tell me where he is." I say bluntly.

The guards look at each other and sigh.
"He should be in the throne room." One of them says. I nod my thanks to them and storm into the castle.

I know this place too well. This was the place where I got sentenced a banishment to the human world after Karen's death.

I walk up the spiral staircase and stare at the floor and the walls as I do so. There are four hundred and thirty four steps that lead up to the throne room. You have the North Tower which is a court room, the South Tower is a Dinner room, the East Tower is the ballroom and the West towers are where the prisoners that have committed unforgivable, sickening crimes are kept.

And the room that links all of them is the throne room. It's in the middle of the castle and the middle of all those staircases.

The throne room has the four staircases going up to each tower and lead off in different directions. It's actually quite terrifying.

I barge into the throne room without knocking. There is nobody there apart from Aquila.
"Ah Le-"
"What the hell are you playing at?!"I yell.
"It's good to see you-"
"Using the Queen to threaten (Y/N) and fairy tail like that?!" I yell.
"Cassiopeia did us all a favour, besides why the heck are you so bothered? D'ya have the hots for Miss (Y/N)?" He asked.

I stared at him in disbelief. Is he really suggesting that I have a crush on my best friends fiancé?
"Are you insane?! (Y/N) is like a sister to me and not to mention my best friends fiancé! And a member of my guild!" I yell now even more angry then I was before.
"Ah yes, Fairy Tail. The guild you joined after you were banished because you killed that poor, innocent Karen." Aquila says.

My anger boils up further as I stare at the idiot standing in front of me. How could the King choose such an imbisile to be his right - hand man?

"Karen was far from innocent, she hurt Aries and the rest of her spirits daily."
"So you decided to kill her?" He smirked.
"It wasn't like that!" I say now shouting.
"Oh, is that true?" He says "then tell me how poor Karen died? Because if I recall rightly she was too weak to summon other spirits for help because you Leo, we're taking up her magical energy." He says.

I had now lost all my control and was furious. I went to attack Aquila when I heard a clearing of the throat.
"Leo, I'd prefer you not to destroy my husband's servant."

I turn around and see the queen herself, Cassiopeia. She stood there in her regal dress and greeted me with a smile.
"How'd you do dearest Leo?"
"Enough of the formalities! Why the hell did you threaten (Y/N)'s friends like that?!" I yell.
"Oh dearest Leo," She smirks "poor, innocent, dearest Leo. I have no use for threats. I was simply warning them.of the dangers they face ahead. And besides, it's true. Once (Y/N) arrives to the celestial world she won't even want to know Gray Fullbuster!" She laughs.
"Are you insane? They're mates, not to mention engaged!"
"Ah yes, but we have our ways Leo, as I'm sure you know." She smirks.

Your POV

"So Draco, what kind of power do you use?" I ask.
"It's a secret (Y/N), although I'm pretty sure you'll find out soon." She smirked.
"Oh okay." I say.

That's all I could think to say. This girl was slightly terrifying and looked almost inhumane. Not because of her appearance but because of the way she's standing and everything else.

I look around to see that everyone was here. Almost everyone. I couldn't see the dragon slayers, Mira and Lisanna.

I walk over to Gray who was arguing with Lyon.
"No Gray. My magic is more powerful because I create living things with my ice."
"No, mine is more powerful because they're are plenty of non animate objects I can make, and there are more non - animate objects then there are animate."
"Gray," I say cutting both of them off "I'm going to go look for a froup of people." I say.
"Whose missing?" He asks.
"The dragon slayers and the Strauss girls." I say.

He looks at me uneasily but then nods slightly.
"Okay I'll come with you." He says. I nod and smile slightly.
"Thank you." I say and kiss his cheek as he grabs his clothes that had been lost sometime when we walked into the guild.

We leave the guild hall and Gray looks at me.
"So," Gray says trying to break the silence " What do you think of the new girl Draco?" He asks.

I shrugs slightly.
"I d-"

I stopped as soon as I heard familiar voices talking.
"Are you sure about that big sis?" A voice which sounded like Lisanna says.
"Of course, I trust Laxus." Mirajane ' s voice says
"So you're saying," Natsu paused "that this girl who spoke to us was really the lady looking after (Y/N) when she had her energy taken out."
"Yep." Laxus' voice says.

Gray and I where hidden away behind a corner, we were listening hard to what they were saying.
"What was her name?" Gajeel asked.
"Cassiopeia." Laxus sighs "I didn't see her, not really. All I know was that the back of her was very... well she was tall and she was wearing a gown."
"And what relation is she to (Y/N)? Do you know?" Wendy asked.
"Stepmother. Cassiopeia is (Y/N)'s stepmother."
"Then why was she acting so... hostile towards us?" Happy asked.
"I don't know. But one thing that is for sure is that somethings not right with that family..."

Sorry. That's an awful place to end the chapter. But yeah, I hope you enjoyed this chapter!

Sorry if these chapter haven't been as up to scratch and usual. I'm on work experience and I'm coming home exauhsted every day.

Anyway, it's gonna be like that for two weeks! And I'm not going to he able to update everyday I doubt, but after these two weeks it's the summer holidays and I'm out for 6 weeks! So prepare for many updates then!
