Chapter 42: You've said sorry a billion times

Your POV

It was now late at night and the girls and I had been watching a film, we where all talking about random things up until this point.Willow had come down to join us and Wendy was staying overnight meaning so was Carla.

They'd been playing pranks on me all night, telling me they where moving, that they where pregnant, that they where dying, each time the prank got more and more drastic, but I forgave them because it's a prank I was thinking of a way

"So (Y/N)," Cana smirked "What's the deal with you and Gray?" She asks raising an eyebrow.

I look at Cana a little uneasily, what the hell is this alcoholic talking about?
"Well we're dating, you know that... what do you mean?" I ask.

Mirajane smiles and rolls her eyes.
"She means how do you feel about him?" She asks.

This is my perfect chance to play a prank on them all.

"Well... actually... I need to speak to someone about this all.." I say acting sad.
"What about?" Erza says in her comforting tone.
"I... I think I need to break it off with Gray." I say.

There's silence in the room as all of the girls look at each other one by one and then back at me, even Willow seems slightly confused.
"Don't you love him (Y/N)?" Wendy asks.
"No.. in all honesty I never did..." I say trailing off.

"(Y/N)..." Erza says in a serious tone "You're joking...right?" She asks. A toothy grin forms on my face and I nod my head laughing my head off.
"Of course I'm joking! Geez! Of course I love Gray, I have done from the moment I met him I guess." I say. Lucy smiles lately at what I was saying.
"So, would you ever want a family with Gray?" She asks. I blush a bright red.
"W-What do you mean?" I ask.
"She means would you ever get married and settle down with Gray with kids." Mirajane smiles.

I feel my face warm up even more and know I'm probably a crimson colour as all the blood is rushing to my cheeks.
"W-well..."
"There's no need to be Nervous, it's just us girls here." Cana smiled.
"Hai!" Willow said in her usual tone.
"Well... yeah I guess..." I mumble quietly.

The girls look at each other and back at me again.
"You didn't sound too sure about that." Lucy says. I look away.
"I am... I'm just not sure if he is..." I say.
"What do you mean?" Carla asks.

I sigh slightly. I know Gray loves me, that's obvious. And I couldn't ask for anyone better, it's just...

"I mean, he's still Gray, he's still the playful idiot that he is... he knows responsibility but he doesn't at the same time, I've never seen him have a commitment to anything, nothing serious at least. I trust he loves me... but weather he'd want to settle down. That's an extremely different story." I say.

The girls all had a small smile apart from Wendy who looked like I'd just said the most beautiful thing there was.

"Y'know, I wouldn't put it past him." Mira smiled.
"Yeah, Gray's changed a bit since you've been together, sure he's still the same Gray, but he's calmed down a lot from when I first knew him." Lucy smiled.
"Yeah, Gray was always the 'cool' one that all the girls adored next to Loke," Mira smiled "But he's settled down a lot since he's met you."
"Yeah, I mean you guys have had your ups and downs, but who hasn't? " Erza says.
"I've seen Gray with a tonne of girls," Cana says "But I think you're the only one I've seen him be so... I don't know... so serious about." She says, she then looks at Erza "No offence!" She says.

Erza laughs slightly and shakes her head with a smile.
"Non - taken. Gray and I dated when we were kids," She then looked at me "please forgive me for what I did to your relationship I-"
"Listen Erza," I interrupt "you've said sorry a billion times." I smile "so it's okay, I promise, let's just move past it now, you weren't yourself," I pause and smirk at her "besides, you have a crush on Jellal!" I grin.

Her face goes redder then a tamato and everyone laughs.
"H-How did you know about that? You mentioned it earlier in the guild as well!" She says. I grin.
"First of all, everyone knows of it, second of all, we need to get you guys together!" I say showing Erza the plan that Mira and I devised on how to get Erza and Jellal together finally.

Gray POV

"So what the heck happens when her energy is gone?" I ask. Loke sighs slightly.
"(Y/N) will go to the spirit world." He says quietly.
"And will she come back?" I ask.

He looks away when I ask him this and I keep my eyes on him.
"Loke?!" I say slightly desperate.
"Listen, (Y/N) doesn't have a key... meaning they're is pretty much no way of her getting to the celestial world unless the king allows it... and the king isn't exactly a very... well let's just say I very much doubt he'll allow his daughter out when she has no power to defend for herself."

I look at object I hold in my hand. I can't not help (Y/N). And I can't let her go back to the celestial world.

"How long does she have left?" I ask her.
"I don't know... she would've used a lot of energy in order to fight Vulpecula. I can speak to Willow to have a talk with the king about it." Loke says quietly.
"Yeah," I mutter "please do." I say.

I look down at the bag containing the jewelry I had bought at the shop earlier.
"Listen..." Natsu sighs "Whatever happens you and (Y/N) will get through it! I belive in you guys, but for now, it's late so you should probably get some rest." He says "after all, you got a big day ahead of you tomorrow." He smirks. I nod slightly.

I know the pyro is right, but is till find myself thinking back to the thought of (Y/N) leaving, and leaving the human world for good.

Hey guys! So I'm kinda tired so I appologise if the last couple of paragraphs make no sense I'm half asleep but I wanted to update! So here it is!

I know it's not the best chapter, but hey! I tried!
