Chapter 33: I never loved you

Your POV

Makarov stares at me looking confused.
"I'm sorry child, did I hear correctly?" He asks. I nod my head.
"Yes. I want to leave the guild." I say.
"May I ask why that is my child?" He asks. I look away.
"It's for the better." I say bluntly.

I don't want him worrying. It's not his fault what's going wrong, but also, if I tell him, the celestial spirit may try to possess him too.

"I trust that your friends you've made in this guild know that you're leaving." Master says. I shake my head.
"No, and please don't tell them until you be left fully, I don't want anyone knowing about me leaving, it will make things harder." I say.
"And may I ask what about Gray?" He asks.
"This is for him too." I say "I'm honestly thinking about the whole guild here master, I'm not thinking selfishly. I need to sort everything out, and this is part of the way to do it." I say.

Gramps sighs.
"If you are sure this is the right decision then I will not stop you from carrying on your journey whilst not in fairy tail. However, you need to know the three rules before leaving." He says quietly "First of all, you must never reveal sensitive information about fairy tail as long as you live, secondly you must never use former contacts met through your being in the guild for personal gain, and lastly though our paths may have diverged, you must continue to live out your life with all your might, you must never consider your own life to be something insignificant, and you must never forget about your friends for as long as you live." He says, teats where welling up in his eyes and my face was wet with tears. "Hopefully our paths will meet again." He says. I nod slightly.
"Thank you Master, for all your help and support in this guild." I say. He nods slightly then gets a little device out, similar to the one which tattooed the guild mark.
"This is to remove our guild mark from your body, obviously, as you're leaving the guild I'm sure you don't need this anymore." He chuckles sadly.

There's silence as he uses the machine to remove the guildmark painlessly. I look at master and smile slightly.
"Well... I guess I should be off..." I say quietly. There's a small sigh.
"Yes, I guess you should. I hope you have many great adventures in your life and I hope it's full of wonderful experiences. I trust you make friends elsewhere, but be sure not to forget those you've made at Fairy Tail." He says.

I try my hardest not to cry.
"Thank you Master!" I say quietly. I then proceed to leave the guild hall.

I make sure my hair is over my neck so that they don't see the guildmark that's left my body. I walk out the door staring at the floorboards.

I have to do this. Even if I don't want to.

I manage to walk out without breaking down. That's when Gray, Laxus and Cana come towards the guild.
"Hey! (Y/N)!" Cana calls "We whe-" there was a gust of wind showing my neck and my guildmark that wasn't there anymore.
"(Y/N)? Where the hell is your guildmark?" Gray asks.

I look down to the floor examining every single piece of granite there is.
"(Y/N)?" Gray repeats himself. I felt there eyes on me burning through me like lasers.
"No reason." I mutter pathetically. Laxus raises his eyebrow and Cana stares at me.
"You're not leaving are you?" She asks.

There's silence and I look up at them. "Thank you for all your support." I say quietly.
"(Y/N)?!" Gray yells "What the hell are you talking about! You can't leave!" He says. I smile sadly. "It's too late..." I say "look after Willow. " I manage to say quietly.
"Bu-"
"Good bye."I say sadly.

I start to run away and run back to Gray's apartment to collect my things and leave a note for Willow. I'm guessing Willow will be out with the other exceeds.

As soon as I was about to close the door a strong hand stopped it from closing.
"Wait!" A desperate voice said, and sure enough it was Gray. I open the door immidiatley making sure I don't hurt his hand.

He stares at me for a second and the sighs. "(Y/N), what the hell are you playing at." He asks, his grey eyes on my (E/C) ones.
"I-I..." I try to find the right words to express myself, but out of 1,025,109.8 words in the English language I can't find any.

Instead I let a painful silence fill the room, whilst Gray's icy cold eyes are staring at me. I don't bother to look at them though, what would I see? Pain? Sadness? Anger? Or worst of all Betrayal?

I couldn't bear to see any of those in his eyes. Not in those ones usually either full of determination or full of warmth (even for the ice wizard he is).

"Aren't you going to answer me?" He says. His voice is full of tension. But I still can't tell what he's feeling. But I don't want to either. That would make things herder for what I'm about to do.

"Just back off!" I yell. "Get lost already! I'm leaving the darn guild and I'm leaving this darn apartment, and there's nothing you can do about it! You don't own me!" I say pretty much shouting at him "I'm getting my stuff and I'm leaving. Why would I want to stay with a loser like you?" I say "you think I loved you! I never loved you! You think I cared?! I never cared! Are you seriously that pathetic?!" I say.
"What?!" Gray asks annoyed.
"I was using you!" I smirked "all this time, all I wanted was to get away from those Darknight creeps and join a light guild." I smirk "just so happens you where my per-"

I am cut off by Gray pulling me into a tight hug.
"You're lying." He says "You're a terrible liar." He mutters. I can't day anything because it would come out as muffled under his coat. "You idiot. If you think I'm letting you leave, think again!" He says in a firm tone.
"I have to." I say sadly as we pull away from the hug "I have no choice." I mumble. "This is for the better..." I say with tears on my eyes.

Once again there was silence filling the whole room and Gray looked away from me and to the side.
"Then I'll come with you. We'll leave faiy tail together."

Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed this chapter I appologise it isn't my best, but I tried to update as quick as I could.

I don't know if I can update later on or tomorrow because I'm away at a sleepover party thingy with people and I don't want to seem antisocial on my phone,

Although it is a gaming party and I have no gaming equip so I may be able to update while they're doing their gaming stuff! ^^
