CHAPTER 25 - SERIOUS

I went to work the day after even if Mr. Park tells me not to. What would I do in the house anyway?

I sat on my chair to be greeted by Minji. "Annyeong unni!"

"Oh! Annyeong Mingkki~ I missed you~" then I went to her and gave her a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"How's France?" She grabbed a chair from an empty table near me and sat there, making it look like I'm her guest in her latest episode of her late night talk show.

"Mingkki-ah. We have work. We can talk about this later."

"Please, unni. Just a heads up, then you can tell the whole later."

"Mingkki-ah..."

She sighed. "Arasseo. Arasseo. I'll go now." She stood up. "Bye unni. Talk to you later."

"Okay."

I went back to work after Minji left me with a slight upset face. I opened my laptop and start to continue my unfinished documents.

"Well, well... look who's here for work."

I sighed heavily. "What are you doing here?"

"Working, of course."

"I know, idiot. I mean.. what are you doing here at my table? Specifically, sitting beside me? You have your own place, go sit there."

"Can't."

"Why so?"

"Because my chair's here. Why's it here anyway? Did you miss me that much that even my chair can make you feel companied?"

"Tsk. Don't be so self-concieted. Why would I even miss you?"

"Because you do."

"Over my dead body."

"Yeah... over your dead, sexy body." He chuckled.

"Will you fuck off if you're just going to piss me off early in the morning. I still have a lot of works to do."

"But you do know that that won't be necessary. You're on a week off, remember?"

"So what? I want to get this done sooner."

"Okay. If you say so. You're such a workaholic person. Can't you loosen up and chill for a while?"

"Already done it in France." I simply answered.

"Oh yeah... you did. With me" he smirked.

"Asshole."

"But you love me."

"Says who?"

"Says me."

"Ugh! Get your chair with you and go back to your place."

"Alright. Alright. No need to be angry." He stood up. "Oh! I almost forgot.." He went to his table with his chair to put it back there and then grabbed something from his table and went back to me."

"Here..." he put a cup of coffee on my table. "Try it. That's my favorite."

"So why are you giving it to me if this is your favorite?"

"Because I want you to know what are the things I like and don't."

"And your goal is?"

"To make you know me more."

"Because...?"

"Because.. I want to know yours too."

"Because....?"

"Why do you keep on asking?"

"Because I want to know."

He looked down and sighed then looked from left to right like he's looking for something.

I looked at him, confused at his actions.

Then he quickly pecked my lips.

"Yah! What was that for?!"

"Because I like you..."

"Huh?"

"Because I like you..." He repeated.

"Tsk. Don't be such a flirt, Jiyong. You have a girlfriend. A very kind, sweet, smart and beautiful one. What more do you need?"

"You."

"Let me repeat. You already have a girlf---"

"I heard you." He cut me off.

"Then why do this?"

"Because I like you."

"No you don't. This may sound arrogant but I think you're just attracted to me for the time being and don't really like me. Don't let it confuse you."

"I'm not. I'm being serious, Chae."

"If you are, then why are you still in a relationship?"

"So you want me to break up with her?"

"No! That's not what I meant."

"Then what?"

"Why are you with her if you like someone else?"

"..."

"See? Because you like her, not me."

"No!"

"Then what?"

"I have my reasons."

"And they are?"

"You don't need to know."

"And we don't need to have to continue this conversation. Why are we talking about this anyway?"

"Chae..."

"Go back to work. I still have a lot of things to do." I turned my chair from him and continued working, leaving him there.

"Asshole." I muttered to myself.

I heard him shuffle his feet back to his area.

I sighed. Why is this happening to me? All I want is to work peacefully, not to get involved in a relationship that already exists to others.
