Chapter 15: Movies
I dialed my mom's number.
"I still find it stupid how you'd rather call Mrs. Parker than just go to her." stated Robin.
"Yes, but I'm lazy." I retorted.
"Hello?" mom answered.
"Hi, mom. It's Jarrett. Um... Can I sleep over at Robin's tonight?" I asked.
"Um... Sure. But sleep on different beds." she said.
Yes! my 9 year old mind thought.
Totally understood, my 18 year old mind thought.
I ended the call.
Robin looked at me with hopeful eyes. "So?" she asked.
I smiled. "She said yes!"
"Awesome!" exclaimed Robin.
"So... What do you wanna do?" I questioned.
"Hmm..." she thought. "Let's watch a movie!"
She then scurried over to the drawer and pulled out a DVD.
"And I know the perfect movie." she said, giggling, as she slipped in the DVD into the DVR.
"What's this?" I asked.
"It's my favorite movie. It's called Forrest Gump. Me and dad used to watch it all the time."
I nodded in response.
She snuggled next to me.
This is nice, I thought. But wait, I'm just 9! Is this all moving too fast?!
Then Robin interrupted my train of thought.
"This is nice." she commented.
Oh my gosh. Did she just read my mind?!
"We should do this every Saturday. Like a... like a... movie night!" Robin suggested as she rested her head on my teeny tiny 9 year old chest.
"Yeah." I agreed.
It was nice.
