Chapter 41: On The Stairs
"Hey Robin!" I called out to her as she walked down the stairs.
"Oh hey." she said, turning around.
I caught up to her and then we walked side by side.
"Where's Cole?" she asks.
I was shocked that she choose Cole as the topic. Perverted, dick head, asshole Cole.
But he's a great guy, regardless.
"Oh... Um... I think he still has class." I said, running my hands through my hair.
"Oh, okay."
We walked down the stairs in silence.
"I have to say, I'm a little curious why you chose Cole as the topic. You do know he's an ass, right?" I said.
She chuckled. "I thought he's your best friend, stupid." she argued.
"Yeah, I know." I said. "I love him and all but he just can be such an ass sometimes."
"You gay, bro?" she chuckled.
I laughed. "Please." I scoffed. "But you're avoiding the question."
"You're right..." she admitted. "Can you keep a secret?"
I nodded.
"Ever since my breakup with Bryan, I've taken an interest on Cole." she explained.
"But why Cole?"
"Well, in first grade, we were kind of best friends." she said. "We kinda drifted apart at 5th grade."
I'm not jealous. I'm not jealous. I'm not jealous.
"Oh." was all I said.
She grinned. "Aw, don't be jealous Jar! I was just joking about the crush thing! I don't like Cole. Yes, he's hot. But he's not my type." she said, elbowing me.
"I... I wasn't jealous." I said, crossing my arms.
She chuckled. She patted my arm and sarcastically said, "Sure you weren't."
Okay, maybe I was jealous.
...
"Now I know you like me!" she yelled as she suddenly ran down the stairs.
I rolled my eyes and said, "Yeah right!" Then I ran after her.
Do I?
