Chapter 42: Finally

"Hey Jar Head!" someone behind me called out.

Probably Robin. She's the only one who calls me Jar Head.

I spun around. "Oh hey Robs." I said, waving at her. "What's up?"

"I have homeroom right now." she said, walking side by side with me. "But teach said I can head over to the history class. That's where you're heading, right?"

I nodded. Could she actually be trying to spend more time with me?

"Great!" she squealed. "I'm just gonna tell teach. Save me a seat!" Then she winked and just about she was gonna run off, I asked her a question.

"But I thought you hated History?"

"Eh." she shrugged. "It's gonna be worth it considering you're there anyways." Then she ran off the the opposite direction.

I simply shrugged and smiled at the thought of how I'll be spending my history class with Robin Jackson.

I walked into class and sat down in my seat. I stared at the door, waiting for Robin to come in.

But instead...

Harper came in.

"Hey Jarrett!" she squealed. She ran over to the seat next to me.

"Is this seat taken?" she asked, batting her eyelashes at me.

"Uh... It kinda... Er..." I stammered.

"So it's not? Awesome!" Then she plopped right down the seat.

Curse me and my stammering!

"S-sorry..." I stuttered. "It's... k-kinda... t-t-taken..."

"By who?" she ask, pouting her lips.

"By... By..." I started, not knowing what to say. "Luke!"

She stood up by slamming her palms against the table.

"Fine!" she growled. "I'm going to the nurse's office anyway! I'm not feeling well!"

Then she stormed off.

"Whew." I sighed in relief.

So glad she bought that. Luke isn't even in this class.

Then Robin came in, looking prettier than ever.

"Hey." she smiled as she walked over to the seat next to me.

"Hey." I greeted back with a smile.

...

"Good morning class!" greeted Ms. Evans. "Today we're talking about the revolutionary war."

"Ugh." groaned Robin. "You're right, I do hate history."

I simply chucked.

~ a couple minutes later ~

I've been sneaking glances at Robin while copying my history notes.

And when I was gonna sneak another glance, I saw her asleep. Head on the table, drooling.

Aww... She looks so cute!

Stop that, Jarrett! I scolded myself.

I didn't want her to get caught...

I grabbed a random book then opened it to a random page.

I placed it in front of her head.

There! I thought. Now teach won't see her asleep!

"Hey stupid." said Robin as she sat down next to me.

"Hey." I said.

Luke and Cole started making kissy faces behind Robin.

"Just sit." I grumbled to Luke and Cole.

They laughed and sat down across from me and Robin.

"How dare you not wake me up." mused Robin.

I shrugged. "Eh." I said. "You looked so peaceful when you were asleep, that I didn't want to wake you."

"Aww!" cooed Luke and Cole.

I glared at them.

Robin smiled. "I saw what you did." she said. Then she kissed me on the cheek and whispered in my ear, "Thank you."

I smiled at the feeling of her breath on my neck.

She looked into my eyes and giggled. "And to prove it... I have something for you." she said.

She pulled out a box from her backpack then handed it to me.

"Go on." she giggled.

Wow, whatever's in here must be awesome because Robin's acting... girly... for once.

I took off the lid of the box. And you know what I saw? My rocket.

"Oh my gosh." I reacted.

I smiled and pulled Robin into a hug.

"How did you get it?" I whispered into her ear.

"I climbed the tree and grabbed it. No biggie." she laughed.

I pulled away and gazed into her crystal blue eyes. She stared back into mine.

"I can't take it anymore." I said as I tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear.

"Can't take wha-"

Then I interrupted her. Not by words, but by action.

I took her cheeks in my hands and pressed my lips onto hers.
