Chapter 30: Problems

"Hey Robin." I said as I slumped my back against her locker.

She didn't say anything, instead, she slammed her locker shut and walked away.

"Wait, where are you going?" I asked, following her.

She sped up so I had to speed up too.

"Hey..." I panted. "Slow... down..."

She spun around and glared at me. Then she said 4 simple words. "Don't. Talk. To. Me."

Then she turned around and ran away to leave.

I was the only one left in school. I think.

"What was that about?" I muttered to myself.

"I'm home mom!" I yelled as I slammed the door shut.

Mom dashed out of the kitchen and smiled. "How was your day, sweetie?"

I scratched the back of my head. "Good, I guess." I said. "But there was that weird thing that happened."

"And what's that?"

"Robin's ignoring me and I have no idea why." I said as I collapsed on our couch.

She sat down next to me. "Oh honey... How about you head over to her house?" she suggested.

"That's not a bad idea." I said before heading out to Robin's house.

I pounded on her door.

If her mom or dad answers the door, I'm dead for knocking too loudly at this time of night. I thought to myself.

Robin opened the door, groaned, and slammed the door shut.

I knocked again.

"Robin, please open this door. I want to talk to you." I said.

"Well if you haven't noticed, I don't want to talk to you." she said through the door.

"Please." I begged.

I heard her groaned. Then she opened the door with crossed arms.

"What do you want?" she said with dead eyes.

"I... uh... wanna know why you're mad... at me..."

"It's because you're being you."

"Is that a bad thing...?" I said, clearly confused.

She didn't say anything.

"I'm sorry." I apologized.

"It's nothing you did..." she said, lightening up. "It's just... never mind."

"Oh come on, tell me." I pleaded.

She let out a sigh and smiled. "It's nothing. The point is, we're good."

"Really?"

She nodded.

"Well, okay!" I said. "I'll see you around then!"

I playfully punched her arm.

She smiled nervously and softly said, "Bye."
