Chapter 39: Pool Time

"I can't believe I've never taken a swim in your pool before." said Robin as she sat down on a beach chair.

"Please." I scoffed. "You never wanted to go for a swim. And you know why? Cause you can't swim."

"Oh yeah? Try me." she said, wearing a smirk on her face.

"Yeah right. You're not sincere cause you're so competitive, you're afraid to lose to me."

"Please." she scoffed before taking off her robe revealing her hourglass figure in a sky blue bikini.

I couldn't help but stared at her cleavage.

"Eyes up here!" she laughed as she jumped into the water.

"Jump in, stupid!" she yelled.

"I'll pass."

She got up from the pool and sat next to me. "Hey buddy." she said, still wearing a smirk.

"Hi." I said, nervously scooting away from her. "What the-"

And before I knew it, she grabbed my arm and threw me into the water.

At first, I sank like a drowning fatass.

Then I started to doggie paddle my way to the edge of the pool. I pulled myself up and sat on the edge.

"Doggie paddle." Robin laughed. "Do you know any other swims?"

"As a matter of fact, I do." I said.

Robin jumped in the water and swam over to me. She pulled herself up and sat next to me.

"Prove it." she said.

"Wanna race?" I challenged.

"Sure." she said. "We swim freestyle and tumble turn off the wall then swim back. First one to touch the wall wins."

"Deal." I said. "Just don't be too disappointed when I-"

And before I could finish, Robin kicked off the wall then swam away.

"Cheater!" I yelled before kicking off the wall and swimming after Robin.

She was in the lead so I kicked with all my might.

I got near the wall so I took a deep breath and tumbled.

I kicked off the wall so strong, that it got me a head of Robin.

I can see the wall! I swam faster than I've ever swam before. But then... Robin touched the wall and yelled, "I won! Suck it, loser!"

"Hey... no fair! You... had a... head start!" I panted.

"No one said when to start."

"But I- You still cheated!"

"What a sore loser." she mused.

"Shut up." I mumbled simply because I didn't really know what to say.

We both got up and wrapped ourselves in a towel.

I checked my phone. I had a text from Harper.

"I'm so happy right now!" the text read. "Mom and Dad said they'll think about it!"

"Think about what?" I replied.

"About moving. I've been trying to convince them that moving is a terrible idea."

"I dunno... Sometimes moving leads you to better things."

"Oh yeah? Like what?"

"Well... for example, I would have never met you if I never moved and you know why? Because I moved here and Robin's my neighbor. We became best friends and she convinced me to go to Lincoln. So, in summary, I would never have met you if it weren't for Robin. I mean- the move."

"Hmm... Well mom said we'll move a couple months after the baby's out. Which will be long from now."

"Your mom's pregnant?! Tell her I said congrats!"

"Mkay."

"Hey, who are you texting?" asked Robin, peering over.

I immediately turned my phone off. "N-no one." I stuttered.

"Okay... That's not weird at all." she said, sarcastically.
