Chapter 50: If Only
This is all my fault.
It's my fault Robin ran away.
If only I didn't give Harper advice on moving... If only I didn't allow her to kiss me... If only I didn't ask her to prom...
IF ONLY I didn't move here... Then Robin would never have ran way...
Although, technically that would be mom's fault...
"Ahem."
My train of thought was interrupted by the eyes that were on me.
They were all staring at me.
"Um..." I mumbled as I rubbed the back of my neck.
If only...
"Alright, well, so this is the boy Robin was particularly fond of?" asked Detective Jane.
"Um... Yeah." Mr. J replied. "Who knows why..." he muttered under guys breath.
"Okay, boy, listen up." Detective Jane said, facing me. "Rumor has it that you're the reason Robin ran away. Any thoughts?"
"....." I was speechless. She was right.
Shit.
She stood up and told Mr. and Mrs. J, "Please excuse us."
They nodded and walked into the kitchen.
"Alright, what the fuck did you do, boy?" she questioned.
"I... um... uh..." I stuttered.
"There's no need to be nervous." she said. "I'm just asking these questions to help solve where Robin has gone to. You'd like to know, right?"
I nodded.
"Good. Now speak up, boy."
"I kissed another girl." I explained.
"Oh boy..." she groaned.
"...then asked her to prom."
"Oh boy!" she exclaimed.
"Who happens to be Robin's arch enemy."
"Oh fuck this." she groaned as she rubbed her temples.
"I'm sorry..." I apologized. "I didn't know how... um... sensitive she was."
"Well you should be, boy!" she snapped.
She let out a sigh.
"Boys never realize how much one little thing can hurt a girl."
