Devante: wats going on yall!

Jo-Jo: about time you came back to the studio! how's she doing?

Devante: she's doing great. That bastard Eazy-E came to see her.

K-ci: What?

Devante: yea. he kissed her on the neck, rub her thigh and slapped her.

K-ci: you saw this happen?!

Devante: nah, she told me about it.

Dalvin: so, what's going on with the police reports?

Devante: she still wants to wait until she gets out of the hospital.

-Andre walks into the studio.-

Andre: alright! time to get working. let's do "Stay".

Devante: okay.

-Everybody gets in the booth, and sings their parts.-

Dalvin: I can't believe that song took 3 hours to make.

Andre: well, it sounds great. by the way Devante, your babymoms called me to let you know that she needs to see you when you get done. but for everyone else, you can go home!

Jo-jo: we'll see you later De.

Devante: ard.

-Devante leaves the studio, and rushes to the hospital.-

Pilar: damn, you didn't even knock.

Devante: sorry. I heard that you needed to see me, so I rushed over here. what's going on?

Pilar: I'm being released tomorrow!!

Devante: this is great! so is your mom gonna take care of you, or...?

Pilar: well, I really wanna go back to my house. I know that this may sound crazy or silly but, I want you to stay with me at the house.

Devante: are you sure about this?

Pilar: yea. I trust you a whole lot. and I really don't feel like living with my mom anymore. she drives me crazy.

Devante: well, okay. no problem.

Pilar: the boys can move in too, if they would like. I have plenty of room.

Devante: okay. (they both share a smile.)

-there's a knock on the door.-

Pilar: come in!

-Phyllis comes in.-

Phyllis: Well hello! I didn't think that I would be interrupting any thing.

Devante: No, not at all Ms. Hyman. please have a seat.

Phyllis: well thank you Devante. he's such a gentlemen, Maria.

Devante: Maria? who's that?

Phyllis: Maria is the name that her paternal grandmother gave her. you know, to give her a girl version of "Marvin".

Devante: I don't mean to get into your business, but I thought that you didn't like Marvin?

Phyllis: yes, I don't, or should I say, didn't like him, but I did love him dearly. and he really loved her. and besides, I never really liked the name, "Pilar".

Devante: so how did she get that name?

Phyllis: my mother is Latina. and her name is Marisol. so, because she had a thick accent, every time she would talk about how Maria was the "Pillar" of our lives, and makes us stronger, it would come out as, "Pilar". she would say "Pee-LAHR". it was so weird how she said it. I like the meaning, so I had decided to name her Pilar Hernandez Hyman. Hernandez is my mom's last name.

Devante: it sounds like "Maria" comes from "Marisol" as well.

Phyllis: I never noticed that. probably because it was Marvin's mom, Margaret, that named her "Maria".

Pilar: so anyways mommy, i'm being discharged tomorrow.

Phyllis: that's great!

Pilar: so i'm going back home, and Devante will be moving in to take care of me.

Phyllis: wow! this relationship is going very fast.

Pilar: well, I trust him. I would still like for you to come to the house to check up on me.

Phyllis: oh of course Maria. Well, I must go home. i'm getting tired.

Pilar: alright momma.

Phyllis: I will see you tomorrow at the house, Maria.  

Devante: nice seeing you again, Ms. Hyman.

Phyllis: like wise, young man.

-Phyllis leaves.-

Devante: i'm gonna go. I have to go and tell the fellas about the move. i'll see you later, baby. or should I say, "Maria"? (they both laugh).

Pilar: Hey, is Devante really your name? ive never heard it before.

Devante: my name is Donald.

Pilar: yuck! "Devante" fits you better.

-they both laugh.-

Devante: bye baby!

-He leaves.-
