Past Curfew: Part 2

-Pilar arrives to the hospital and rushes to the front desk all while pushing the stroller as the twins are holding onto her legs.-

Pilar: hi ma'am. Someone called me about to come down to the hospital. Im Pilar DeGrate?

Desk Lady: yes, (turns to Dr.) Dr. Lakes?

Dr. Lakes: Hi, Mrs. DeGrate. Lets get you caught up. follow me.

-As Pilar and the kids follow the Dr., Pilar starts to panic. They then go to the 4th floor, walk down the hall a little bit and then stops.-

Dr. Lakes: he's in there.

Pilar: whats happening?

-Before the Dr. could answer, Phyllis and Shaunte rush down the hall to Pilar.-

Pilar: mom slow down. Can somebody please just tell me what the hell is going on?

Shaunte: is he getting surgery? whats happening?

Dr. Lakes: open heart surgery.

Pilar: who is that? i cant see their face! (gets anxious).

--At JoJo's house--

Sherry: im having a really good time tonight. (smiles)

JoJo: i am too! 

-JoJo scoots over to Sherry on the couch and leans in for a deep kiss.-

Jojo: would you like anything else? some more to drink? something else to eat?

Sherry:  i would like some dessert.

Jojo: well what would you like? ive got ice cream in the freezer. Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.

Sherry: is there a flavor called "JoJo"? (says flirtatiously)

-Sherry gets up and grabs Jojo's hand.-

Sherry: come on. lets go upstairs.

--At the hospital--

-in the waiting room-

Pilar: (on the phone) i just cant believe this.

Malina: i know. i need to get on the plane like right now.

Pilar: are you sure that you can leave right now?

Malina: why wouldnt i be able to?

Pilar: you have a family.

Malina: and? i can bring Marianna with me.

Pilar: well if you feel like you should, then okay. 

Malina: well how is he doing now? 

Pilar: he's still in surgery. he's been in there for about an hour now.

Malina: jesus. ill get on the jet in about an hour. Please keep me informed.

Pilar: of course. ill talk to you soon.

Malina: bye!

-Pilar hangs up the phone and Shaunte gets up from her seat and walks to her.-

Shaunte: how did she take the news?

Pilar: not good. Shes on the way here. 

-Pilar and Shaunte both hear the machines go off and sees the surgeons scatter in the Operation Room. Pilar, Shaunte and Phyllis goes straight to the window to see whats going on.-

Shaunte: oh my goodness. (covers her mouth).

-Dr. Lakes comes running down the hall.-

Pilar: what is going on?

Dr. Lakes: his heart rate dropped. we did get his pulse regulated. we will take him to the ICU once we stitch him up. okay? 

Phyllis: sure. 

-Dr. Lakes walks away as the girls group hug and cries out of happiness and sadness.-

--At Jojo's House--

Sherry: this was nice. i love being near you.

JoJo: i feel the same about you. 

-The phone starts to ring and JoJo answers.-

Jojo: hello?

Dalvin: man, where have you been? ive been paging you for the past hour.

JoJo: sorry, i didnt hear my pager go off. Whats going on?

Dalvin: you need to get to the hospital now! 

JoJo: what? whats going on?

Dalvin: ill explain to you when you get here. (hangs up)

Sherry: whats wrong baby?

JoJo: somebodys at the hospital. i need to go. (puts clothes)

Sherry: okay, let me get my things and ill go home.

JoJo: well you can stay here if you like. ill see you later, okay? (leaves)
