Jumping The Broom

-September 13th, 1990-

-7 am in the morning at the house-

Phyllis: (comes through Pilar's door) wakey wakey!!!

Pilar: (mumbles) what?

Phyllis: girl! you're gettin' married today. that's what. now get up. the hair dressers are gonna here shortly, so get in the shower. 

Pilar: okay. (gets up)

--AT ANDRE'S HOUSE--

Devante: (walks downstairs) good mornin'.

Jo-Jo: hey man! its the big day! (smiles)

Devante: yeah! i just took my shower. did you?

Jo-Jo: nah! imma eat this first, then go upstairs. man, you look hella tired, G.

Devante: hell yeah! we was up all night with them strippers.

Jo-Jo: i know. 

Devante: so, we gonna go to the barber shop, then we gotta pick up the suits.

Jo-Jo: Andre got them. he should be on the way back.

Devante: cool! then i gotta get the rings.

Jo-Jo: K-ci and Dalvin have them.

Devante: wow. um... okay then.

Jo-Jo: all we want you to do is relax. 

Devante: hmm. well, fix me some breakfast, and then when i come back down here after i get dressed, imma go to the barber.

Jo-Jo: ard.

---AT THE HOUSE---

Phyllis: thank you guys for coming. i can tell that all five of yall know how to do hair. (smiles)

Lacey: thanks for having us. so where is the bride?

Phyllis: (yells up the stairs) MARIA! PLEASE COME DOWN HERE!

-Pilar rushes down the stairs-

Pilar: hey guys! who's doing my hair?

Lacey: i am! Sharon is doing your mom's hair, Sha' Vette is doing Malina's, Mary is doing Rain's, and Jasemine is doing Shaunte's hair. 

Pilar: great! lets get started! and just so we can get things moving along, i told everybody to wash their hair this morning in the shower, so that we can get straight to the styling.

Lacey: great! let get to work!

-Everybody is getting their hair done.-

-It is now, 10:30, and the make up people have arrived.-

Phyllis: alright girls! im gonna move all of the dresses into the car. and im gonna go down to the church and make sure that everything is all right.

Pilar: see ya!

-it is now 11:15, and the wedding starts at 12.-

Shaunte: P, we gotta go! 

-The make up team rushes out. and the girls follow shortly after.-

---AT THE CHURCH---

Andre: ard, here's the suits. we need to hurry up. we've got 15 minutes.

Devante: (puts suit on) everything is moving so fast.

Andre: everything will be fine. its just your adrenaline running. 

Jo-Jo: you look great De.

K-ci: yeah! that velvet is sharp.
