No More! We're Done!

-NEXT MONTH (FEBUARY)

Pilar: (laying in the bed) can you believe my first borns are gonna be one a couple of days?

Devante: your? that's OUR first borns! and I cant believe it baby. every year of this decade has been truly amazing! '90 we meet, get married and had gotten pregnant of our first baby. '91, we had a set of twins and now '92 we welcomed our FINAL children into the world. (lays next to her).

Pilar: "Final"! you can say that again!! I will be so happy when I get that surgery done!

Devante: wow. you know having that surgery will really make it official.

Pilar: well, I didn't know that you wanted more kids.

Devante: you never know what will happen down the line.

Pilar: this surgery can always be reversed, but I don't want anymore kids for at least another few years. like '97 or something, but after 2000, I'm done. imma be too old for kids. (giggles)

Devante: yeah, at least one more child would be good. I want another girl.

-Phone rings, and Pilar picks up the phone.-

Pilar: hello?

Donnie Simpson: whats up girl?

Pilar: hey!!!

Donnie: are you ready for the interview?

Pilar: of course! I'm sorry that I couldn't be there in person, but as you can see, I have birthed triplets! (laughs)

Donnie: well hold up! we are about to start! turn on your tv!

-Pilar turns on the tv channel and she sees Donnie Simpson sitting, ready to start the show.-

Tv Show: Donnie: Hello! Welcome back to Video Soul. Today we have a very special guest that is on the phone with us right now, Mrs. Pilar DeGrate. how are you feeling, Pilar?

Pilar: (giggles) tired. I'm so tired. its been a month since I unexpectedly became a mother of 5. I was only planning on bringing one more child into this world, last month, but God gave me two extra blessings.

Donnie: yeah, because I remember you saying that you were having boy, and so when we  reported your giving birth, I was in shock that you had triplets. how is Devante handling this?

Pilar: well you know what Donnie, he is actually desiring more kids. (giggles)

Devante: what?

Pilar: he wants another girl. you know we have 3 boys and two girls, and so he wants to have even number of boys and girls.

Donnie: so are you on board with this thought?

Pilar: not right now. I'm getting my tubes next month, so I will be sort of in pain for my tour.

Donnie: yeah, I was just about to ask about the tour. youre planning on doing an international tour starting April up until July. tell me about that.

Pilar: I will start in South America, so April will be spent on the countries there. the month of May I will be in Africa, the month of June I will be in Europe, the month of July I will be in China, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, and Japan. then the other half of July, I will be in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia.

Donnie: wow! youre gonna be a busy young lady! now how old are you and Devante?

Pilar: I'm 22, I will be 23 in November. he is 22 and will be 23 in September.

Donnie: so yall are parents of 5 at 22 years old?

Pilar: yep! but its not our fault! (laughs) we only asked for one baby per conception.

Donnie: now do you know why you have always created more than one baby?

Pilar: I was a twin, but she was stillborn and my mother was a twin but he died. you know I'm still waiting for Malina to have twins. shes planning on having another one soon.

Donnie: now does she want twins?

Pilar: not really! (laughs) shes scared of the fact that she might have twins, but the thing is that the gene of making twins can only be passed to one of a person's children. so my grandmom didn't pass the gene to my aunt, she passed it to my mom. and my mom passed it to me and not my sister. now had my twin lived and she was my identical twin, then she would have twins or multiples, same with my mom and her brother.

Donnie: is Phyllis enjoying being a grandmom?

Pilar: of course! she has 5 from me, one from Shaunie and one from Malina. I think that she would be completely pissed if I had another baby. she wants like two more though, one from a boy from  Malina and a girl from Shaunie. Shaunie was actually going to have one this year, but get pregnant last year, but she was so busy with my concert and helping me with my pregnancy, she just decided that then and this year is not the best timing. she really does want another one in '93 though and then shes done.

Donnie: can you just imagine how many grandkids you and Devante are going to have? (giggles) its gonna be crazy! and is it Shaunie or Shaunte'?

Pilar: Her full name is Shauntelle, she always went by Shaunte', but sometimes I call her Shaunie. and back to your other question, my set of twins and triplets are both identical, so 5 kids times two grandkids already puts us at 10 grandkids. my uterus is already in pain for my daughters to be quite honest, just thinking about how many kids my daughters are going to push out. and I feel bad for my future daughter-in-laws because its gonna be hard.

Donnie: so the whole time, you didn't know that you were having triplets?

Pilar: I didn't! when I checked into the hospital, I got a room and my doctor checked my uterus and he said to me that I was having another set of twins. after I gave birth to Desmond, I felt pressure and pain and I immediately knew that this was a feeling that you don't get after giving birth. usually you don't feel anything because of your adrenaline. so the doctor looked inside to see what was going on and low-and-behold, there was another one in there. I was pissed Donnie.

Donnie: I'm sure!

Pilar: everyone had passed out after finding out that there were more than one baby in the womb and then Shaunie passed out when she realized that I was having triplets. the only ones still present were me and my mother, and believe, had I not been laying down and not been in so much pain, I would have passed out too. that's for sure. (laughs) it was so much going on. but I was truly relieved when I realized that it was a girl.

Donnie: well I am certainly happy for you and Devante! we hope everything goes well on the twins' 1st birthday.

Pilar: thank you! had it not been for their extra brother and sister, they would be getting a huge party, but I'm in so much discomfort and we still are getting used to having 5 babies, we just want my immediate family members, and no friends. the germs would just destroy the immune system of the newborns.

Donnie: thank you so much for joining us via phone call today.

Pilar: thank you! I will see yall soon!

-They hang up, and Pilar falls fast asleep.-

Devante: (comes out of the bathroom) oh she gonna have that baby. (smirks)
