The Wedding: Part 1

-At Phyllis' House-

Phyllis: Shaunte?

Shaunte: yeah? (eats breakfast)

Phyllis: have you started on doing the nurseries yet?

Shaunte: Andre has gotten started yesterday.

Andre: yep! its gonna look real good when i get done.

Richard: i got the blue paint upstairs, but im gonna need some help.

Devante: Well i can help. when do you want to start?

Richard: today, if thats possible?

Devante: sure thing.

Pilar: hey mom, dad, whens the wedding?

Phyllis: well, we're thinking of just going to the court house and getting married. so maybe this weekend.

Pilar: court house? how about something a little more romantic?

Richard: well what do you have in mind?

Pilar: how about we have the wedding in the backyard? i can put everything together.

Phyllis: well that sounds perfect. 

Pilar: great! just give me a list of people that you want. and we're gonna have to do this next weekend. theres no way this can all happen this Saturday. 

Phyllis: no problem. 

Richard: i cant wait to be married to you again! (kisses Phyllis cheek).

--LATER AT PILAR'S HOUSE--

Devante: (comes downstairs) hey baby. what you doin?

Pilar: planning the wedding. mom sent me the list of people. now i need to get the invitations together. 

Devante: how many people are coming?

Pilar: about 30. she wants it to be a small event. then i have to get everything together for the rehearsal dinner. i think im gonna make reservations at Olive Garden. thats her favorite spot to eat. then i need to do the bridal shower. 

Devante: dont forget the dresses yall need to pick out. 

Pilar: oh yeah. make sure you have a nice suit, cuz youre dad's best man. and then mom is gonna pick out something from the store. she just wants a simple gown. 

Devante: well what about you?

Pilar: yeah, well me and the girls are gonna get some dresses. but ill be the maid of honor. Shaunte is gonna be the flower girl.

Devante: flower girl?

Pilar: yeah, we dont have anyone else. our kids are too small. and malina is gonna be the bridesmaid. oh that reminds me, i will be needing to get flowers. i can just pick that up from the store. and i will be getting a cake. 

Devante: what about the food?

Pilar: ill be needing your help cooking. in fact, i want you and the boys to be helping me. also, please plan the bachelor party for dad. i know you will do a good job. but the party will need to be at his house or Andre's house. no clubs! 

Devante: anything else?

Pilar: no. 

Devante: good. im headed over to your dads.

Pilar: be back by 9! 

Devante: bye. (walks out).

-The phone rings, and Pilar answers it.-
