Setting Boundaries

-Later that day-
Devante: (walks in the house) hey.
Pilar: hey. (Holds DJ while in the kitchen).
Devante: how was everything with your father?
Pilar: it was fine. He's moving to New York permanently. He and my mom are getting remarried.
Devante: wow! That's great.
Pilar: yeah, it is. I just don't have time to be happy right now because of all of this crazy you're putting me through.
Devante: I know.
Pilar: i cancelled the rest of my tour.
Devante: but why?
Pilar: i don't have time. I need to be here, with the kids. We need to work on our marriage. I don't think that now is the time to leave if I want us to work.
Devante: (walks closer to her) you still want us to work?
Pilar: of course. I love you. Other than you getting drunk and beating me, you have treated me well. And you're a great father to our kids. At this time in our marriage, you need me to be here to help you with your struggles. I don't want to leave during this time of need. And yes, i am still angry, but I'm getting through it. You haven't been acting up lately. You haven't been drinking or going to the clubs. You've been doing what needs to be done. I just want to thank you for that.
Devante: baby, i love you and our kids so much. I'll do anything to make things right. Nothing in this world matters more to me than y'all. Nothing! I respect you so much! You are a strong woman that i am proud to call my wife. And i know that it's gonna take some time for us to get back to how we used to be, but I'm ok with that.
Pilar: i think that we should start slow. Maybe we can watch Martin together. It comes on in a few minutes. Would you like that?
Devante: of course.
—At Shaunte's House—
K-ci: man! Shaunte you put your foot in this potato salad!
Shaunte: thank you!
Jo-jo: yeah, i forgot you knew how to cook. It's been a long time since i came over here to eat.
Andre: yeah, well don't get used to it.
Shaunte: oh hush. (Giggles) where's dalvin?
Jo-jo: he's visiting his parents back in his home state.
Shaunte: oh wow! That's lovely. Speaking of parents, my father and mom are getting married again!!
K-ci: wait! Your real mom, or Phyllis?
Shaunte: Phyllis of course!
Andre: wow. I never thought I'd see the day this would happen again.
Shaunte: i know right.
-shaunte drinks her orange juice, and she immediately burps.-
Andre: babe? Are you ok? You don't look to good.
-Shaunte runs to the bathroom.-
Andre: welp! I guess i should go to Home Depot and pick out some paint for the room (laughs).
—At Pilar and Devantes house—
Devante: man! I love me some Martin!
Pilar: that's our show! (Smiles)
Devante: i really do miss this! Us watching tv and just enjoying each other's company. You know?
Pilar: i know. I miss it too. We've never gone a whole week without making love, unless one of us were on tour.
Devante: so why don't we just go back to what is natural to us?
Pilar: i would love to, but i want you to understand the severity of what you have done. I need time. We need to go out on dinner dates and get to know each other again. We have both changed since we had our kids. I'm still gonna cook meals for you and things like that, but I'm gonna continue to sleep in a different room.
Devante: fair enough.
—At Shauntes House—
Shaunte: (comes downstairs) where's the boys?
Andre: they left after the game was over. How are you feeling? I haven't seen you since you ran up to the bathroom.
Shaunte: well... I'm doing fine (she shows Andre the pregnancy test).
Andre: (gets up from the sofa and walks over to shaunte) ARE YOU SERIOUS???
Shaunte: well, it says "positive". (Grins) i think I'm pregnant. I hope i really am!
Andre: OH MY GOD!! You're pregnant!!!!!!! THANK YOU GOD!!!
