Pilar: (comes out of the bathroom) this bathroom is amazing!
Devante: (gets out of the bed and looks outside) i cant wait to get in that water! its nice and blue.
Pilar: (walks over to him) this is gonna be so fun. (smiles)
Devante: yep! oh! did you take your pill last night?
Pilar: yes boy! the 4 hours we had together last night will not haunt us for another 18 years.
Devante: thank god. (giggles)
--OVER AT PHYLLIS' HOUSE--
Phyllis: (in the bed and the phone rings) hold up! Margarita is calling. (answers phone) hello?
Malina: mama! where is Pilar? ive been calling her for hours.
Phyllis: she went to the islands for a week with De.
Malina: why cant she answer the phone?
Phyllis: i told her not to answer any phone calls. she needs this break. she is dealing with post-partem depression.
Malina: yeah well whos taking care of the kids?
Phyllis: amy, Shauntelle and I are taking turns babysitting them.
Malina: Shauntelle? damn, are you mad at her or something?
Phyllis: YES! she was late taking over her shift because she was having sex with Andre. she's trying to have another baby.
Malina: we dont need anymore babies right now!!!! UUUUGGGHHHH!
Phyllis: now now! you cannot decide if she is gonna have another baby or not.
Malina: mama! have you not heard of the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child"?
Phyllis: god!! you and are sister are the same person!! Pilar said the same thing two days ago.
Malina: well shes a smart woman.
Phyllis: well when are you gonna have another child?
Malina: after Shaunte has hers. probably not for another 2 years. im so busy with my husband and Marianna. and then having to fly from LA to New York to see yall when something goes wrong, like when Pilar got shot, it's so much. i most certainly want one more child. hopefully it will be boy. and also, i havent seen dad in a while. when i talked to him, he told me that he was in New York for some business things. have you seen him?
Phyllis: no! i didnt even know that he was here. maybe i should give him a call.
Malina: well okay, ill call you later. (hangs up the phone)
Phyllis: you know, your daughter is looking for you!
Richard: (comes out of the bathroom) i need to call her.
Phyllis: she may come looking for you if you dont go back home. (grins)
Richard: yeah, well my flight leaves in two hours. so imma get going.
Phyllis: well, it was nice having you here. i wish you would move here.
Richard: i would, but Malina needs me.
Phyllis: yeah, i know.
---IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC---
-At a restaurant-
Pilar: this taco is amazing!
Devante: i see that. you have sour cream all over your face.
Pilar: (giggles) you know its kinda nice to not have to answer the phones. its almost like we dont have any kids. i miss it just being the two of us.
Devante: yeah, seriously. are you still thinking about tying your tubes?
Pilar: yes, but im not sure if ill do it. i think i may stick to the birth control. why?
Devante: i was just wondering.
Pilar: i mean, do you really want more kids?
Devante: i dont know.
Pilar: honey, we're parents of 5 at the age of 23. now if i had known that twins ran in the family, i woulda made sure to conceive just one child at a time.
Devante: so are you saying that you wish we didnt have the "extra" 3 kids?
Pilar: im saying that i would love for us to just have had 2 now and then had the "extra" 3 later in life.
Devante: i cant believe you!
Pilar: LISTEN DEVANTE! IM SUFFERING! I HAVE POST-PARTEM DEPRESSION, AND WHAT DO YOU HAVE? A DICK THAT IS READY TO PRODUCE MORE LIVES! FORGET THE AGE THAT WE ARE, I AM MENTALLY INCAPABLE TO HAVE ANOTHER CHILD! IM HONESTLY TIRED OF KIDS, EVEN ONES THAT ARENT MINE!!! I NEED TO GET BACK TO BEING ME AGAIN. AND TO BE QUITE HONEST, YOU ARE SO SELFISH, BECAUSE YOU ARENT EVEN TRYING TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR KIDS, THE ONES THAT YOU HAVE KNOW, IS BEING RAISED BY SOMEONE WHO IS HEALTHY AND NOT FIGHTING SUICIDAL THOUGHTS. (Devante looks at her in shock). YEAH! YOU DIDNT KNOW THAT IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT KILLING MYSELF! BUT I HAVE BEEN! AND THE ONLY REASON WHY I HAVENT DONE IT IS BECAUSE I HAVE 5 FUCKING KIDS THAT NEEDS A MOTHER. AND I KNOW THAT IF I DIE, YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE ENERGY TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. (Pilar gets out of her seat). AND I JUST MADE MY DECISION, IM GETTING THE SURGERY DONE AS SOON AS WE GET BACK HOME. (Walks away from the table).
Devante: (grabs napkin and wipes his yes) DAMN! i didnt know that she was going through all of this stuff.
