Normal is Normal

-Later that night-

-Pilar and Devante comes in the house.-

Jo-Jo: (sitting in the living room) hey yall! how was yalls day out?

Pilar: (keeping the miscarriage a secret) it was great! we had really good time. (looking at Devante) im going upstairs to get some rest. 

-Pilar walks upstairs.-

Jo-Jo: i called and ordered some pizza and wings. 

Devante: ard! call me when it comes.

-Devante goes upstairs into Pilar's room.-

Pilar: hey. (looks into the mirror and touches her stomach) you okay?

Devante: yeah, why?

Pilar: i just wanted to make sure that you were okay about losing the baby. can you close the door?

-Devante closes the door, then walks back to Pilar, who is still looking into the mirror that is attatched to the dresser that has the TV on it.-

Devante: well, i feel like the baby wasnt meant to be. we didnt wanna have any kids this year. we always talked about trying for one next year. but i wouldve still loved the baby if she or he had been born. but, if you hadnt miscarried, when would you have told me about the baby?

Pilar: i dont know. i was so scared to tell you. i didnt wanna stress you out. and i guess in the mist of stressing out about not stressing you, the baby couldnt take it. 

Devante: but you know that the doctor said that it was most likely caused by what happened between you and E. 

Pilar: yeah! (Devante wraps his arms around her waist and puts his hands on her lower stomach). i love you so much. (a tear comes out of her eye).

Devante: i love you too! both of you. do you wanna tell anybody about the baby?

Pilar: not now. but, if you want... (gets cut off by Devante)

Devante: no. no! im not ready to talk about this. i just wanna keep this between me and you. 

Pilar: okay. 

-Devante goes downstairs.-

-Pilar gets in her bed and calls Shaunte'.-

Shaunte: hello?

Pilar: hey babe! 

Shaunte': did you tell De yet?

Pilar: actually, we went to the mall today, and i hadnt told him yet, and as we were walking, i had miscarried. (sniffles and wipes tears).

Shaunte': my poor baby! im so sorry! 

Pilar: i dont want anybody else to know about this other than me, you and De.

Shaunte': i got it! i hadnt told Andre yet, so your secret is safe with me. so, what happened after that?

Pilar: we went to the hospital, i blacked out a few times because i was losing blood and i was in a whole bunch of pain. but, the doctor came and checked me out, and she revealed to devante that i was pregnant, and then miscarried. he was in shock! believe me, he was! but i was 2 months pregnant.

Shaunte': wow! i cant imagine the pain that you guys must be going through. 

Pilar: yeah! the fact that we're keeping this under wraps is what helps us move forward. im bleeding a lot, so every 2 hours i have to change my pad. 

Shaunte': yeah, its gonna last for about a week or so. at least i think so.

Pilar: i should be done by next tuesday. its Friday, so 4 more days.
