Chapter 80: Shopping

You all agreed to walk to the store. None of you wanted to get into the car. Kimberly doesn't know what happened and she doesn't need to. The store was only a few blocks away anyway. Kimberly definitely needed a new coat. Hers was black and tattered on the end. You felt horrible waking into the cold brisk air with your fancy coat.

Kimberly seemed much more chipper than she did last night. There wasn't even a fragment of regret in adopting her. You Dan and Phil leave the complex and head up the pavement. Buses cruise by and cars honked their horns in annoyance. The sounds of London bring your mood even higher. The sun burned through the smog and clouds in an attempt to warm up the bitter late November air.

You grab Kimberly's hand as you cross the street to the store. Dan jogs up next to you and holds open the door. Freaking gentleman. He gives you a smirk and follows you inside. The shop was playing Sugar We're Going Down by Fall Out Boy. This was one of your favourites.

*shopping montage*

"Hey (Y/N) can we by her this?" Dan calls out from the next aisle over.

You peak your head around the corner and you see Dan holding up a dinosaur onesie very similar to who's own. He had a smile on his face that you couldn't say no to.

"Fine. But you're paying for it."

"You should get one too. And for Zoe and Phil. Family Christmas photos."

"Absolutely not."

"We're gonna get them later."

"Why Dan?" Phil groans.

"No."

"Please mum? It would look so cute!" Kimberly says holding the shoes you picked out for her.

"Ugh. Fine."

"Yay!" Dan and Kimberly say in unison.

You and Phil roll your eyes.

You finish up shopping and check out. As you walk to Zoe's flat you explain to Kimberly how she's going with Zoe to pick out paint for her room and maybe some other stuff. She didn't have a problem.

As you were waiting for the crossing signal you pull out your phone. November 22nd. Poo. It's almost thanksgiving.

"Dan?"

"Yes (Y/N)."

"What are we doing for thanksgiving?"

"I didn't even think about that."

"While Kimberly is with Zoe we can run to Tescos and figure out what to do."

"Sounds like a plan."

"I want food right now." Phil says.

"Later." Dan replies.

The three of you drop Kimberly off with Zoe and then head to Tescos. This would be your first thanksgiving with Dan and Phil. You arrived in early January. That makes you realise how little time you and Dan actually dated before you got married. Oh well. Guess you're not traditional.

You Dan and Phil step inside Tescos. It was warm as hell compared to outside.

"So what are we even planning on doing?" Phil asks.

"Turkey. Stuffing. Potatoes. As long as we have that stuff I really don't care." Dan declares.

"Well obviously but you need a bit more than that. Have you guys even celebrated it?"
