Getting Better.

I woke up in the gown still and still in the pale white room. If i concentrated enough i could imagine Brets arms wrapped around me. Someone knocked on the door and slid in my breakfast on a tray with a small pile of pills. And a letter.... I didnt think Id get one back so soon... i quickly ate my food and took my pills and I teared open the letter.

Im glad to hear from you. Yes I still wanna marry you. Of course I do! Crystal is helping plan with Cassie so you can just make your changes when you get out. The band is fine. They got Cody to reschedule the recording dates for now. Mrs.Rines tells me I'm the last one that gets to see you due to your therapy. I wish I was there everyday but I can understand why I can't be. I'm not mad about anything baby I just want you to get better so I can marry the love of my life.

I started to tear up but I smiled big. I walked over to my bed and put the letter under my pillow as I waited for Mrs.Rines to come for my session. Alyssa was first on the list. There was a knock on the door and Mrs. Rines cane in. Alyssa slowly followed her and they sat next to each other in chairs across from me.

"Hey Alyssa, nice to see you."
"We miss you Scar. ..."

"I know. But I have to get better. "

"And that is our intention for today," Rines said as she flipped through papers and landed on my file from school and when I lived with my Dad.

"So Scarlet lets start from the beginning. You were abused by your father for many years." I nodded.

"Do you think thats scarred you in anyway?"

"No. I mean I don't feel anything when you mention it. I see past events but it doesn't really faze me."

"You lost your first kid in a car accident when you were in highschool?" I looked down and sighed.

"Yes."

"Did that faze you?"

"At first yes. A little. It was my father's. He raped me. Bret was gonna help me through it."

"Ah. We are getting somewhere now. You think because Bret left a few months after you lost your first kid. You think he'll leave you again?"

"No! Well-." I stopped thinking for a moment. Could she be right? Possibly right?

"I think you do think that. Alyssa describe her relationship with Bret."

"Caring, sweet, goals," i chuckled a little as Rines jotted down some notes.

"So basically inseparable?"

"Yeah I guess so."

"Scar you need to spend time away from Bret. You've been with him so long that you have forgotten how to live without him."

"But-we're getting married. You can't tell me that hes the reason."

"No Scarlet. I'm not saying that. You're afraid that you'll lose him because you lost your kid again. So your mind checks to the worst moments you've ever experienced which was the kidnapping. Hence you thinking Bret was Trey."
