Lydia sighed as you missed again, she'd been pretty sure her plan would work, the only flaw was your terrible hand eye coordination. Despite your insistence to give up and find a new plan she refused to listen, knowing that you were just as good as any of the boys on the team.
"I can't get it in, I am left and it goes right." You groaned. Lydia pursed her lips and began passing the distance between the practise goal and your spot on the field.
"Then aim the other way... it should work right?" Lydia suggested as she moved out of your way. She had somehow acquired a Lacrosse kit in your size, you had been friends with Lydia long enough to just go with her slightly questionable methods,
"Fine." You swung the stick and followed her suggestion and grinned when it went in.
"Yes (Y/N) that was perfect all you need to do know is get on the team and he'll be super impressed!" Lydia squealed. You grinned happily at your best friend and followed her to the changing rooms, promising to meet her at her house so she could introduce you to the new girl.
"So... Lacrosse is a big thing here?" Allison asked as Lydia led her to a spot in the bleachers.
"Yeah, but there isn't a full girls team yet." Lydia muttered. She wasn't really paying attention because you were stood between Jackson and Danny who were trying to give you a pep talk which, by the sickeningly nervous look on your face, wasn't working.
"(Y/N) up next!" Coach yelled. You glanced over to Lydia and Allison and Jackson shoved your helmet on and pushed you forward.
"Good luck!" Lydia yelled. You blushed when you realised Stiles was sat alone on the bleachers and was watching you, he gave you a quick thumbs up as you turned to face your opponent.
You froze when you realised it was Scott McCall, the new best player on the team. Each time you almost made it past Scott he'd end up with the ball in his net, you were determined to get past him on your final try, remembering what you'd practised with Lydia. Just before you crashed into Scott you launched the ball towards the goal.
Scott went to the left, following your movements, sliding to a stop in front of you as the ball went the other way and whizzed past his ear before he could react.
"What... Yes... she got it in!" Stiles yelled, practically falling over as he jumped up. Lydia wasn't far behind him as she jumped up and screamed happily, cheering your name while Allison grinned at you.
When you stepped off the field and joined the girls on the bench Stiles slid into the seat next to you. when neither of you spoke Lydia groaned, nudging you gently in an attempt to get you two to talk.
"That was impressive, I never really took you for a Lacrosse kinda girl." Stiles muttered with a grin.
"She actually tried out for the team to spend time with you." Lydia said when you did nothing more than stare at Stiles.
"Lydia!" You squeaked. Stiles chuckled when you blushed bright red and tried to hid your head in your hands.
"Well, I was impressed... even if you don't get put on the team I'll be impressed... Maybe we should hang out sometime." He winked at you and jumped down the bleachers, almost falling, as he jogged over to Scott.
