KaraMichelleBooks is a shared account between an aunt and niece who have created an amazing Science Fiction book which has inspired many members of the Wattpad community, myself included, to start writing Science Fiction. 'Breeder Nation' currently has 1 million reads and has been officially published, meaning you can buy it on Amazon or Kindle. I was over the moon when they agreed to do an interview with me and this is what they had to say!

Breeder Nation is such a unique story- where did the idea come from?

So, the idea for Breeder Nation came from a dream I (Michelle) had, though it was a much more morbid version, which made Kara cringe, and she was like, "No way!!" So we started a different story, a regular romance, but weren't feeling inspired by it. We ended up coming back to Breeder Nation idea, changing it up a bit so it wasn't as creepy, and things just kind of flowed from there.

What made you want to start writing on Wattpad?

We were curious to know what people would think about our story and our writing, aside from our family and friends, and thought it would be something fun for us to do. Getting feedback from Wattpadders has been so exciting and beyond inspiring. We're so glad we did it.

How did it feel to hit 1 million reads?

Un- f*cking-believable. It's still hard to believe. I mean, when we hit 100 reads, we celebrated with a cake we were so damn ecstatic. So one million reads?! Wow. Just. Wow. We're so grateful.

What's your favourite book on Wattpad?

That is so hard!!!!! Kara says, no, it's impossible. Lol! As for Michelle, the first two that come to mind are, Moons Made of Muskets & Mirrored Snow, but I've read so many good ones!

Do you ever feel like you have a clash of ideas when writing together?

Not really, to be honest. We bounce ideas off of each other, and if we like them, we like them, and if we don't, we don't. But we've always been on the same page, thankfully. We're lucky, but we feel like it's proof that this was our destiny. 😀

Do you plan on writing more books in the future?

Absolutely!

How does it feel knowing you've inspired so many people to start writing Science Fiction?

We had no idea we inspired anyone to write Sci-fi, but if we did, that is so unbelievably cool.

Who's your biggest writing inspiration?

As a writing duo, Christina Lauren is a big inspiration for us. We love their stories, and through them, we realised that we could write stories together, too. Creatively, it's really a collection of all the books we've ever read that are inspiring to us. It's the journey they brought us on that made us want to do that for other people. There's nothing better than reader a really good book.

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

Don't give up, especially if writing is what you love doing. And always write for yourself. Write what you love, what interests you, and what you would want to read, because that's what's most important.
