z0mbies is an amazing account that is home to some well-loved horror stories, notably 'Puppet Boy' which has done amazingly well on Wattpad with 1 million reads! She has been a huge inspiration for me and her books have made me obsessed with the genre of Horror. Here is my short interview with her!

Puppet Boy has done tremendously well on Wattpad- what made you want to post it on Wattpad?

Thank you!! I wanted to post it on Wattpad because I just wanted to see if people would read my work. I wanted opinions and thoughts from other people rather than just my friends and my mum lol 😀

Where did you originally get the idea for Puppet Boy?

I got the idea for Puppet Boy from a movie called Dead Silence. I was watching it while I had writers block and then thought of the story. The original idea was way different in the beginning but somehow it changed to what it is now.

How did it feel to hit 1 million reads?

I WAS SO HAPPY! I literally could not believe it at all!!!! I actually screamed.

Do you ever scare yourself with some of the things you write about? I know there were definitely some scenes in Puppet Boy that gave me nightmares!

I don't usually scare myself, but some of the horror stories I have written that aren't on this site have scared me before! Puppet Boy didn't particularly scare me, I guess because I was writing it myself and didn't really think about it that much lol. I definitely upset me though!

Who is your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing?

R. L Stine and Stephen King. They are huge inspirations. I also love Edgar Allen Poe.

What was the first book you read on Wattpad?

I really don't remember! Probably something scary, I know the first thing I did was look through the horror section.

Do you have any new book ideas that you're working on? What can we expect to see from you in the future?

I've been very busy lately but on the side I do write a ton of short stories and stuff like that, that I would really like to post on here eventually! I still have to update chapter 3 of Goodnight which I keep forgetting to do :/

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

I think that the first thing people think about is how they immediately want to get tons of reads on their stories, but if you focus more on just writing the way you want to and being patient, the reads and votes will come. There are many people who will critique your work on here (make sure to listen to the ones who know what they're doing, some of them don't so just do what you feel is right) and I advise asking some of those critics to help you improve your story, but they will also read it and vote so you have a starting point 😀
