wannabeloved3 is a very well loved writer on Wattpad and has written books such as 'Anything Better' which has over 800k reads, and they have over 8k followers. Here is the fabulous interview with them!
Why did you start writing on Wattpad ?
An old friend of mine told me that Wattpad is better than a different site that I was writing on. I decided to try it out just to prove her wrong, but well she was right. This all happened while I just started high school and I've been here ever since.
What's been your proudest moment on Wattpad?
Ok so it's kinda cheesy. But, one of my favorite authors on wattpad by the name of @TheWitchandTheCat. She and I mutually liked each others stories. I mean we commented on every chapter and added the story to our reading list. It felt surreal and still does. Like a famous person just liking your stuff. I felt so proud in my hard work and hope I can do better, which is probably why I'm working on rewriting that story soon, so I can really see how far I've come as a writer.
Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration mainly comes from my weird, weird, perverted mind. Also music, and life, and other stories that I love so much, or stories that really get an emotional response from me.
Which book has been your favourite to write?
I've been on wattpad a long time and written a few stories. I have been through so many different stages in my life while working on them. So it's kind of a difficult question to answer. So I'll say all of them, since the most fun part for me is finishing a chapter and feeling excited as I wait for the comments full of reactions.
What's the hardest part about writing on Wattpad?
I don't get paid to do it. Lol no seriously. I wouldn't say I find writing on Wattpad hard just a little frustrating as of late. I tend to just use the app and it been kinda hokey about letting me publish chapters.
What are your favourite chapters to write?
All of them, well depending on where the story is in each chapter. I see myself as more of a mouth piece, er finger puppet for my characters. If that makes sense? If they are having fun in the chapter so am I, whether that 'fun' is telling jokes or just being a jerk or causal killing of other characters. ( which I don't do a lot.)
And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?
New writers on Wattpad, hiya. Ok advice for writing. Don't do the whole introducing your character thing. Here's an example of this from one of my older stories:
Oh by the way I'm Nyla Grant I'm 5,5 and have long black hair and brown eyes.
I've been gulity of doing this a few times. Instead have another character say those things. Like this:
"Nyla", I turned away from my locker and towards the sound of my name being called, I took in the sight of Malaki.
He just came from his class door, with his bookbag on his shoulder. His grey eyes sprinkled with gold trained on me. He weaved his way through the students going towards the exit if the school. With in a minute he was at my side. He tilted he head down to look into my eyes, yet I was more fouced on the smirk that made itself at home on his face.
"I forgot how short you are", He said with amusment clear in his tone. He moved a lock of my black hair from behind my shoulder to in front of it as he continued, "what are you, five feet tall?"
I narrowed my eyes at him as I slammed my locker closed. Which, surprisingly got no reaction from him. I started debating if I should snap at him or not. He made my choice for me by shivering before he spoke again, "what beautiful brown eyes you have, Ms. Grant".
I let out a sigh, tried from all his joking around. Yet still I couldn't resist as I walked down the hall towards the exit of the school, I called over my shoulder at him, "The better to roll them at you, Mr. Stone".
With this example, you get all the information in the first example and so much more, which is always good. More detail means better visuals for the reader.
If writing is in your bones, like it is in mine, then never stop writing. There will be hard times, trust me I know but your story is worth telling. Because it is yours and no one can write it the way you can.
