XStoryOfMeX is a wonderful account that is home to the book 'Mysteriously Yours' which has 1.88k reads at the minute. It was great to interview them and here is what they had to say!

Why did you start writing on Wattpad?

I'm not exactly sure 'why' I started writing, it was kinda spontaneous. My mind had always buzzed with new ideas but I didn't really give a thought to penning them down. But, yeah, the instigation to write has to be my desire to immortalize a personal experience. That's it.

Where do you your inspiration from?

Well, there isn't a particular thing I draw my inspiration from. And, firstly, I don't believe that you need to 'draw your inspiration' from something or someone. If you want something real bad and are prepared to work hard for it, then you inspire yourself. I write 'cause I love to and I'm passionate about it. I write 'cause I wanna leave my mark upon this world through my writing. Intense, I know. ;D

J.K. Rowling has been my greatest inspiration in terms of overcoming failure. Given all that she's been through, she's one hell of a strong woman! I'm in awe of her!

How did it feel to hit 1k reads?

Wonderful, of course. I didn't really think that anyone would actually read what I write so yeah, the feeling was phenomenal!

What's the best part about writing on Wattpad?

The best part about writing on Wattpad has to be interacting with my readers, getting to know their thoughts about my book. Moreover, you also get recognition and praise for your work. Lastly, 'cause of Wattpad I've become great friends with some really cool people! It is just so amazing to have online friends from different countries across the globe!

What's your favourite book on Wattpad?

I haven't had a favorite one yet. I haven't read a lot of books in here(including the immensely popular ones) so no I don't have a favorite one.

What's the hardest part about writing on Wattpad?

Living upto people's expectations. Everytime I post a chapter I have this dreading feeling 'Will they like it not?' 'Did I keep up the standard I set for myself?' Only the joy of reading their wonderful comments could tame my fear.

And also dealing with shamers is disheartening. It's sad to see that there are some people in here who actually take pride in demoting someone's work. I mean how can you even call yourself an artist when you can't appreciate or even encourage anyone?

Constructive criticism is always welcome but shaming, according to me, is immoral.

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

Alright, here comes the preaching part. Okay, then what I gonna say is pretty clićhe but it's true to the core. Never ever give up or stop believing in yourself. There are gonna be hundreds out there ready to deter you but please follow your heart and do what you feel is right! Respect yourself, respect your views and you will be respected. 'Cause one can never demand respect, one has to command it!
