lokidyinginside has written some amazing books on Wattpad such as 'Ophelia' which has 58k reads, and 'Not Even Friends' which has 19k reads. Her covers are honestly goals by the way! Here is what she had to say!

Why did you start writing on Wattpad?

I found wattpad by accident when I was on Tumblr and looking at Marvel stuff (no surprise there) and then I just fell in love with this world where I could write whatever I wanted and have people who would relate to the same things that I liked. I could find people who liked the same things and didn't judge me for what I wrote or said, and that's why I wanted to become a part of the community.

What's the best part about writing on Wattpad?

Honestly, the fact that I can write whatever I want and someone will enjoy it. It's amazing to find people who will relate to my love of Bucky Barnes or some other fictional character and not judge me – which happen too much in the real world – and that people will read my retelling of stories. Also, the fact that I can write and share my work with others because otherwise, I don't know where I'd put my random stories and thoughts. I'm not exactly the next JK Rowling (although who knows what the future has in store) but this way I can publish my work and allow people to read it, give me feedback, and then I can polish it and make it even better. It's a great opportunity to be a writer – which is ultimately my dream.

Which book has been the most fun to write?

I think the book that has been the most fun to write has been either Ophelia, which is a book that has brought so many new friends and readers and people who just really like to bond – but at the same time, it sheds a light on a topic that isn't discussed properly, which is sexual assault and how to deal with that, or an original book that I have coming soon called Innocent Exchanges. It's a different story but it's probably one of my favourites that I'm almost done writing because it's just so unique and weird and a WHOLE lot of plot twists.

What's been your proudest moment on Wattpad?

My proudest moment on Wattpad? Oh gosh, there's a whole lot, and honestly, every time that someone says they like my stories or follow me that makes my heart warm and fuzzy. I think my proudest ones though were having Ophelia rank #177 in April and then hitting over 50 thousand views, and also the fact that I reached a hundred followers. I never thought I would actually have more than 100 people care enough to follow my strange daily endeavours, but now I have close to 250 people and so many friends that have made my life so much better.

Who are your writing inspirations?

Outside of Wattpad, my writing inspirations are J.K Rowling, J.R.R Tolkien and Neal Stephenson – they just have such a way with words and they create worlds that just carry someone off away from all the drama and problems with our world. On Wattpad, however, I'm totally in love with three authors: @kmbell92, @tinkertaydust, and @themysciira – along with a boatload of other people too, but those three are authors that I have continuously loved and loved their books and will never not be inspired by them. Honestly, if you have not read their amazing works – all I'm saying is I don't know how they're not already bestselling authors.

What's the hardest part about writing on Wattpad?

The hardest part of writing on Wattpad is 100% balancing writing and the world around you – at least for me. As much as I would love to just sit at home and write until my fingers were nubs, I need to balance my school and work and family and things that will ultimately carry me through the 'real world', which is something I have a problem with. Also, the fact that sometimes, your book or other books that are amazing and you love to death just won't be read and other books that might not be as amazing to you will overshadow them. There have been so many books that I have read or even written that I absolutely love that just don't get recognised, and that's a hard thing to accept. However, I think that that fame isn't everything, and as long as you enjoy it, that's what matters.

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

My advice to a new writer? Dude, write whatever you want to write and don't listen to other people. Even if it's something totally weird and not very popular, as long as you enjoy writing it, that's all that matters. If you want to write a Hagrid/Hermione/Dobby tale, go for it – although that would be slightly creepy in my opinion, but whatever floats your boat. Write what you want to write in any genre/subgenre and don't be afraid to share those stories to the world! Also, try to find people who have the same interests as you and talk to them! Message them, or comment on a story – making friends on this site is honestly going to make things so much easier, and especially coming from someone who isn't good at finding people with my interests, it has changed my life. Even if they seem 'too cool' or anything, try anyways because you never know who could become your best friend online.
