simonesaidwhat is an amazing account, home to books such as 'Once Upon a One Night Stand' which has 4 million reads, and they currently have 20.6k followers. It was amazing to interview them and here is what they said!

Why did you start writing on Wattpad?

Okay, here we go, it's quite a tale: A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I used to write on this website called FictionPress. I posted my work there for a couple years, but I was constantly being plagiarized. Eventually I left with a few other writers, and we created our own private writing community called PlagiarismHaven where we personally vetted members who could read what we wrote so we wouldn't have to worry about them stealing our work. That community lasted a few years, but eventually we all went our separate ways and shut the site down.

For a couple years after that, I didn't write at all. I had the worst writer's block of my life, and was generally discouraged by the whole idea of writing and posting online, considering all the issues I'd faced in the past with it. Then one day I decided I was ready to try writing again, and I wanted to share my work with the world. I'd heard of Wattpad before simply because someone had plagiarized me (shocker!) and posted one of my stories there, but even with that sucky introduction to it, I figured if I was going to post somewhere, that was going to be the place.

So in 2015 I began posting one of my older, completed stories (Once Upon a One Night Stand) and haven't looked back since.

How did it feel to hit 1 million reads for the first time?

Not even gonna lie, I was embarrassingly excited. 1 million reads seemed like such a huge deal! I'd never reached that kind of audience before in the past, so it was pretty awesome to see.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Everywhere, honestly. A lot of it comes from my life or things that I wish would happen. Even more comes from the things I read or hear about on the news. Not to mention music and books or simple snippets of conversation I've overheard. I can find inspiration in pretty much anything!

What's the best part about writing on Wattpad?

The sheer amount of people you can reach. It's such a massive community, and I've met so many wonderful people that I never would have encountered otherwise.

Which book has been the most fun to write?

Hmmm, in terms of actual 'fun' I'd have to say 'All That is Gold', because it has so many plot twists and it's so over the top. That said, the story I enjoyed writing the most was Arabian Nights, because it was so nice to focus on cultures you don't often see on Wattpad.

What's one thing you wish your followers knew about you?

I think my followers know pretty much all there is to know about me haha. But if I had to pick one thing, I'd want everyone to know how much I adore them. I probably wouldn't still be writing if it wasn't for them pushing me on.

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

Be patient. Keep writing. Don't give up. You probably won't be an overnight success story (I sure as heck wasn't) but that's 100000% okay. Just write what you love, and focus on producing the best content you're capable of. Keep pushing forward!
