kingtomlnsn is an account home to two amazing fanfictions. 'the model' has 32k reads and 'temporary fix' has 48k reads. It was great to interview her and here is what she had to say!

What made you start writing on Wattpad?

I started writing on Wattpad because I wanted to see how people would react to my writing. I've always loved writing. I remember when I was younger that I would grab a notebook and pen and write whatever was happening outside my window just to be able to write something. As I got older, I started reading books that I've adored and that had impacts on me. I wanted to do the same. So, one day, I sparked an idea, wrote a few chapters, then got the courage to post it on here! And I love it! I love the interaction I have with my readers; the comments are my favourite things. I started writing on here because I wanted to 'test the waters' in the writing 'business'.

Where do the ideas for your fanfics come from?

I have an open imagination. I guess that's where it comes from! I don't really know, honestly. Most of the time the ideas for my stories come when I'm taking a break from my school work. I'll be dozing off and thinking about something and an idea would pop into mind. Some of its from experience, others are things I wish would happen to me.

Are you planning on writing any more books in the future?

Yes, I am! I finished writing on of my two published books recently. However, I don't think I'll be writing a fanfic. It might be more of a young adult/ teen book. I've had a bunch of ideas over the summer and I just need to bring my ideas to life and (hopefully) get good reactions from them!

How did it feel to hit 10k for the first time?

Oh, goodness. My first time hitting 10k was a dream for me. I know that it's not that much of a big thing, but it was for me! I couldn't stop smiling that day that I reached 10k. It was such a big accomplishment for a small writer like me and it's a moment I'll never forget. One of my books is almost at 50k and I STILL can't believe that it even got 10k reads. It's really amazing.

What is one of your favourite books on Wattpad?

Sadly, I haven't been reading a lot on Wattpad recently! My schedule has been so busy with school and everything that I find it hard to have time to read for enjoyment now 😟 I do believe that Pride, Prejudice and Zombies was a book on Wattpad that recently became a film. I watched the film and it's one of my favourites! I haven't read the book though so I don't know if that really counts.

Your books have done very well on Wattpad, how does it feel knowing so many people like your work?

Thank you! It feels absolutely surreal. Just knowing that you're connecting with people, and seeing your readers reactions to certain things is amazing! It's the little accomplishments that mean a lot! The feeling you get once you realise that people appreciate your work and have fallen in love with it as much as you do, is beyond compare. And that's all I wanted to do, honestly. I just wanted to be able to connect with people through my writing and having it actually happen before my eyes is a wonderful feeling. I get a little emotional over it sometimes haha.

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

I'd really advise new writers to read published books in the genre they are looking to write about. Reading those books will give you a feel of how readers react to certain styles, setting, characters, and much more. Also, don't be discouraged! Everyone starts at zero reads, votes, and comments but they eventually get up there!
