AsherTensei is a great writer on Wattpad, and has written books such as 'Mana' which has 1 million reads! It was amazing to interview them, and this is what they had to say!

Why did you start writing on Wattpad?

Wattpad's the place to be! I was thrilled to find out that there was a place to get my work potentially noticed. Writer's groups were nifty but they didn't have the same impact as Wattpad. Wattpad provides writers with a rare opportunity to engage with readers right on the platform. Though I've planted my seeds elsewhere since I began writing, I'll always have a home here.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I get inspiration from breathing (as funny as that may sound). Every day, I see and hear about new things, think new ideas, add new knowledge to my arsenal. Writers tend to mask bits of their daily lives into a craft we call literature and I am no exception.

Which book has been the most fun to write?

Velvet Sky. It currently isn't on Wattpad and I never got to finish it. It's the third book of The Mana Saga. I took some time off Wattpad to remaster the first book of the series. I made several plot changes, enhanced the dialogue, and really ironed out the technical issues. I can't wait to return to Velvet Sky! I was only a few chapters into it, but I saw a lot of promise it that book. (The others are good, too, don't get me wrong.)

Are you planning on writing any books in the future?

Yes. Now that Mana has gone through its transformation, I have time dedicated to rewriting book two and book three. Readers would be glad to know that, even throughout all its changes, it remains the same story that they remember. (Shout out to all the people who read Mana before the intense edits!) My ultimate goal is to pursue publishing with this series.

What's been your proudest moment on Wattpad?

It only lasted about a week or so, but my proudest moment was when Mana finally hit the #1 spot in fantasy. The book had a steady climb at the time, but I never imagined it would beat out Rob Thier's "Robber Knight". The next milestone was getting 1 million reads. Mana has accomplished a lot, and now that it has been remastered, there's nothing it can't do.

What's the hardest part about writing on Wattpad?

I would say...getting noticed. There are so many stories—some good, some bad, Sometimes, the social aspect of getting your work noticed on takes precedence over the actual writing. You must write a good story, but you must also promote this good story. The latter becomes a bit harder to do when there are so many stories out.

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

Keep on writing and absolutely own what you write. As a new writer on Wattpad, it can be easy to want to have your work in league with some of the giants on the site. Writing becomes easier and less stressful when you write for yourself. Write the very best version of your story and don't worry about what others have done or how they write. Don't feel like less of a writer because you can only churn out a single book. Don't feel like more of a writer because you can churn out many.
