Katty_Yazzy is an amazing writer on Wattpad, who has written the book 'The Prince of Hearts' which has 13k reads. It was really great to interview her!

Why did you start writing on Wattpad?

I've always been a huge fan of reading and digging into the world of books . Ever since a young age , it's been a way of seeking solitude and encouraging myself to strive harder . I had stumbled upon wattpad's app version while going through playstore . I thought it was an interesting community and decided to give it a go . ❤

What's been your proudest moment on Wattpad?

Oh this one is difficult . *Laughs* I've had several moments on wattpad that were made me feel extremely proud . But if I had to choose one , I guess I'd go with the feedback I've received from so many readers . They say my book is uniquely built with a plotline that always keeps them engaged and the drama and suspence make it all the more amazing . That makes me feel extremely proud and emotional too .

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I've always been inspired from people who fight . Sometimes even from my own daily struggles . I try to focus more on realistic aspects than the socially stereotypical norms . But then again , my current story is a typical romantic novel *smiles sheepishly* . However , that is the only story I'll ever have as a sole romance based novel . So I decided to write it down anyway . There are many more to follow that will be WAYYYYY different and inspirational . I hope and wish that you'll all support me . *Grins and blows kisses* . Also , I tend to think TOOOO much all the time , but that is what — personally I feel — keeps my plots as effortless and natural as possible .

Which book has been the most fun to write?

Apart from the book that I'm currently working on , there are many others I write whenever I feel like taking a small break from my only published story at the moment . I think all of my stories — the ones that are a secret for now — have uniquely built characters and have different storylines . Each story gives me relief that cannot be compared by others . However , even then , I LOVE writing THE PRINCE OF HEARTS . It's fun and lightens my mood .

What's the hardest part about writing on Wattpad?

The hardest part has to be the fact that , this platform is extremely competitive . ( Personally ) . If you're working on something and wish to make sure it gets recognized , you'll probably have to work your hardest and invest all of your time in it . Especially the beginners . Sometimes , personally again , I feel like so many great stories and novels don't get the recognition they deserve . That hurts . Even more so when you see other (not so deserving ) people given the credit .

It's hard to stand out as a fresh author on wattpad , specially if you happen to concentrate more on reality .

Which chapters are your favourite to write and why?

I LOVE CHAPTERS WITH THRILL AND SUSPENCE AND.....AHEM AHEM , a teeny tiny bit of romance I suppose . I happen to involve a lot of fun scenes — pranking , teasing , mocking — in my current story too . It's refreshing and my mission is to incorporate as much of the genres in a story as possible , so as to give the reader a little of everything . Trust me , THE BOOK ENDS UP BEING A LOT MORE INTERESTING . So in short , I love writing a little of everything .

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

YOU.ARE.UNIQUE.

JUST.SERIOUSLY.NEVER.GIVE.UP.

You'd regret awfully !

What I have been taught from a very young age , is that nothing ever works out without being patient .

A few steps might be helpful in guiding you :

Write your chapters from your heart and feel your characters . Put yourself in them and feel their emotions . Once you have done that , relax and write with happiness . Your readers will feel your emotions through the words you write down , SO YOU NEED TO FIRST ENJOY WRITING YOURSELF before expecting that from others .

inculcate fun and relaxing chapters every now and then , even if your story deals with major life issues . Readers will feel refreshed and will be on a lookout for more from your side .

Build up your characters steadily and work towards bringing out characters other than the stereotypical ones . Again , this will attract a large number of readers . We all do love a little of stereotypicality , but too much of it is present on every corner of wattpad , frustrating a lot of people who are in search of REAL books .

Once you've given your best to the story , STAY PATIENT ! As long as you've done a good job on your book , no reader would go away without dropping a vote or comment .

Keep in mind that no successful writer ANYWHERE , attained the position he / she is on within a day . It took a lot of hardwork , patience and sacrifice to make it to that level .

Being patient will eventually give you the fruit of your hard work . And trust me , it will be better than what you had hoped / wanted . ❤
