blondemccann is an account home to some amazing Justin Bieber Fanfiction. Her book 'Always Mine' has currently has 36k reads and I was thrilled when she accepted to do an interview! Here is what she had to say!
Why did you download Wattpad?
Well I used to read stories on another site like 5 years ago only about Justin Bieber then an author mentioned Wattpad and how she updates her books there faster. So I joined the site, I started reading normal not famous stories at first but then after a while I got used to the site and I started with fanfictions. I couldn't use Wattpad that much because I was in Iran ,which is where I live, as most things are blocked. To be honest, I never ever thought I would start writing stories of my own here, I only used to write in the notebook I have but I guess things change.
How did it feel to hit 1k for the first time?
When I first hit 1k I was feeling proud of myself. I remember doing a little dance for myself, I never thought I would actually make it to it, I thought my grammar would suck and people would embarrass me, English isn't my first language.
What's been your proudest moment?
My proudest moment would be my book 'Always Mine', it's a gay book. In my family, which is a Muslim family, my parents don't support it and I hate it when people say God hates gay people. I don't believe that because God created them and they can't help themselves because of what they are or what they do. So I decided to make a book about them. Deep down, when I say these things I feel like I'm gonna burn in hell for this story but I still haven't deleted it, I had my moments when I was about to.
Are you planning on writing any more books in the future?
I have a short book in mind, I'll have to see if people read it.
Who are your writing inspirations?
It has to be the people who read my books, or my favourite authors Adriana, Alexis and Dani. They really showed me what a real story is about. And you can actually feel something from their characters.
What's the best message you've ever received on Wattpad?
Some people message me staying they love my books, or telling me they've read my book many times. They give me butterflies when they say that. I actually like it when people tell me to update because it shows they are enjoying it and they want more, it makes me not lazy to write.
And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?
I would say please make NEW ideas and to not use the old ones, like in every single story I've read the guy is a fuckboy, sadly 98% of the books here are like that and a girl finally changes him. I would like to see a strong girl in a story, not someone who is weak. I would like to see new ideas. Be yourself, because that's very important and when you get to a spot very high up, don't be mean because your books have a lot of readers. Don't forget about the people who supported you from the very start, you are still one of us.
