_HakunaMatata_ is an amazingly popular account in the One Direction fandom on Wattpad. She is one of my biggest inspirations, and her books have made me laugh, cry and sit on the edge of my seat. Her book 'Motel 6' has 58 million reads, and her account is home to some other, equally as amazing books such as 'Ready to Run' and 'Darcy'. When she accepted this interview I was overjoyed, this is what she had to say!

You've become one of the most successful Fanfiction writers on Wattpad, what made you start writing on Wattpad?

One day I stumbled upon Wattpad and thought it would be really fun to get to write my own story and I guess I never looked back from there. My whole experience has been incredible.

Which book has been your favourite to write?

For me, it has to be 'Ready To Run'. I love writing about Harry and I love the whole plot and my main character, Mia. Even though the plot is kinda outrageous, I think that everyone can relate to it at certain points.

Have you got any books planned for the future?

Yes I do! There are two stories that I'm working on, and one that should be going live on my page. I just have to work on finished my one book and it'll be up. It's a different type of story for me, and more mature, too. Should be interesting.

For me personally, 'Motel 6' and 'Darcy' inspired me to write Fanfiction, how does it feel knowing that you're inspiring so many people to write Fanfiction?

Thank you so much! It makes me so, so happy to know that I've affected people that way with my writing. I feel like even if I impact at least one person, then I'm doing something right. I know I get so much inspiration from other writers so it's cool to hear that I've inspired some others as well.

How did it feel when you hit 1 million reads for the first time?

It was CRAZY! Darcy was my first book to hit a million and I think once I reached that point I was kinda like "okay, wow, this is happening" and from there it kinda just shot up. I really expected Darcy to be my most popular story, but that was way before Motel 6 came along and kinda blew Darcy out the water.

Your books all have very unique storylines, where does your inspiration for stories come from?

I definitely get a lot of my inspiration from the One Direction guys, especially Harry. I also get a lot of inspiration from other Wattpad books that I read and from things I experience in my everyday life. I feel like I get my inspiration mostly from those three things (especially Harry Styles).

What's been your best Wattpad experience?

I remember in January of this year, I was on my way home from school and I got a message from some on the Wattpad team saying that Motel 6 got reviewed by the magazine Sugarscape. That was so crazy for me, because Sugarscape is all about celebrities and to know that they wrote a part of an article about my story was really surreal.

What's your favourite Fanfiction on Wattpad?

The No Control series by scooby-snacks is my all time favourite. Whenever I see it's been updated, I always pause what I'm doing to read it. The storyline really correlates to what Harry is doing in his real life and I love that about it. She does a flawless job with every chapter.

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

I would definitely tell them to practice a lot. Wattpad is the best place to practice your writing skills. I feel like I've improved a lot with my writing since I've joined on here, and I think it's because of all the writing I've done. That, and reading a lot. Reading always helps.
