DoctorGay is a super cool account, home to books like 'One Shots- Frerard' which has 137k reads, and they have 3k followers. It was lovely to interview them and here is what they had to say!

Why did you start writing on Wattpad?

I started writing on Wattpad when a friend suggested it to me. I had been writing for as long as I could remember anyways, but everything was just for myself on my own laptop. So when I found out that there was a site where you could post stories and get feedback for it, I was all up for the idea.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I get my inspiration from talking to my friends online or just normal everyday things. Sometimes I could just be walking through a town and I'll see someone that I find interesting. I'll often find myself thinking about that person for a while later and even developing a background story for them.. And I want to find out what happens next, so I write it.

What's been your proudest moment on Wattpad?

I guess my proudest moment was when I realised how many people actually read my books. It didn't hit me when I hit 1K followers or more, or when my books hit the same amount.. It was when people got excited when I followed them or I received messages from readers telling me that they liked my stories.

What's the hardest part about writing on Wattpad?

The hardest part is being able to actually press 'publish' on each chapter. It takes a lot of strength to do it because I'm always nervous about what people will think of it.

Which book has been the most fun to write?

Definitely Artistic Fingers. It's probably the saddest of my stories and it was hard to write at times, but I really, really enjoyed writing it. I loved the relationship between the two main characters and I was always excited about writing the next chapter. I think it was probably the hardest book to let go of.

What's one thing you wish your followers knew about you?

I would like my followers to know that they could talk to me if they wanted. I know a lot of them are going through hard times, but I'm always willing to talk to anyone and I don't mind them messaging me.

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

I would say to not worry about the amount of reads you get. I know a lot of people get discouraged and don't want to keep writing because they don't get as many reads as they would like, but that isn't important at all. You have to write for yourself and do it because you enjoy it; not because you want to get thousands of reads or more followers. You have to have fun with it!
