Daya
Jake and I went back to our apartment afterwards, so I could get patched up. Although I told him I was OK with it, and that it would just heal later. That little brawl with the soldiers got me slightly drained of my powers, especially when that jerk shot me.
We hoped we weren't followed since we would have a problem regarding cops, and moving, and probably becoming fugitives, and...
"Ow!" I whined while Jake was patching my leg up. I almost forgot that he was.
"Hold still!" he yelled. I needed stitches to stop the major bleeding, but Jake doesnt have the steadiest hands in the world...
"I AM!" I yelled back, "Let me do it! Your hands are shaking too much!" I complained.
"Fine! Drama Queen..." he mumbled.
"What did you just say?"
"Nothing"
"Thats what I thought" I replied while he quickly walked over to the door. We didn't want to take any chances of being followed, so he just stood guard and kept look out.
I took the needle in my hand then began looping it through my flesh. It didn't really hurt so much, just that when Jake was doing it, he would poke it too far away from the open wound, and stick it in my muscle, which hurts a lot when you don't have a numbing agent. When I finished, I got a piece of gauze and dressed it.
We were about to step out of the front door, but I heard some engines, or turbines?
I stopped Jake with my hand, then pointed to the ceiling, but he gave me this dumbfounded look that just made me roll my eyes.
"The roof" I mouthed.
We both shot a look upstairs when we heard a creak in the floorboard. We both knew what that meant because we deliberately loosen the floorboards by the windows.
I silently tiptoed over to the wall in the kitchen with my gun loaded. I didn't want to use it, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
The creaking continued over to the stairs, and I could hear every splinter that was cracking beneath this person. I guess he, or she, is pretty heavy because this wasn't very stealthy.
I aimed my gun upward towards the creaking sounds, and followed it with every step once it was making its way down.
I sucked in a breath, then jumped from behind the wall, only to be grabbed by wait.... CAPTAIN AMERICA!?
He held one of his hands over my mouth, and grasped my gun in the other. I made muffled screams, but I guess Jake CLEARLY can't hear me when it comes to these situations.
I don't know why Captain America is in my apartment, but I guess it's one of the perks that came with that stupid tank.
"Stand down" he said to me. I'm not going to get arrested by an Avenger! Not now, not ever!
I snapped my hand away from his grip, releasing the gun for him to take. I didn't care for it because I'm going toe to toe with Americas "golden boy", and I doubt he will shoot me with one.
I then struck him in the side with my pressure point skills, making him lose balance, then I full-on kicked him in the gut causing him to stumble backwards.
"That ain't gonna happen Cap'n" I quipped before running off. I headed straight for the front door, and Jake was surprisingly already outside waiting on me.
