Daya

× × × ×

"Where's Daya?" I heard Clint ask as I stepped out of the elevator that would lead me to the hangar.

Although my thoughts consumed me just moments ago, I had to look and act strong in front of everyone. I didn't want to burden anyone with my feelings when we had bigger fish to fry.

Since Tony gave me my extremely comfortable, flexible, and super adaptable suit, I had a small grateful smirk playing on my lips. The design suited most of my problems when I fought. A few things I noticed right away were the thin layered soles to help me with my seismic sense and the relaxed stitch material that trailed my wrists and arms. The bottom of the suit soles were thin, but they still gave me comfort and support. The breathable material covering my wrists and trailing up towards my under arm had a chevron pattern. I don't know why he designed it like that, but I didn't complain.

I turned the corner and saw everyone ready to load up in the Quinjet, then suddenly all eyes were on me. I continued walking confidently towards them and watched everyone's expressions to my new look.

Clint looked genuinely surprised but in a weirdly good way. Maybe he saw the faux confidence and swagger in my walk. Whatever the case, he looked at me with a sense of fatherly pride.

Wanda and Pietro were walking up the back ramp heading in the Quinjet when they caught sight of Clint staring in my direction. She turned and looked at me, her facial expression turning from slight confusion to slight worry. I could see it in her eyes and sense the same feeling of fear she expressed when I sunk her and her brother into the floor a while ago.

And speaking of the speeding daredevil himself, he quirked a brow at my power walk. I could tell he might say something, but I stepped pass them and into the jet before anyone could say a word.

Once inside, Thor, Vision, Steve, Tony, and Bruce were idling around the main steering wheel, chatting about Ultron no doubt. Then, once Steve heard the sound of my footsteps and the extra presence in the jet, he turned around and met my gaze. Slowly but surely everyone did the same, but when Tony looked, he had a smirk on his face as he got up and approached me.

I quirked a brow and crossed my arms until he stopped in front of me and took my right wrist, stretching my arm out so he could study the fabric snug on my skin. He kept it there and scanned my arm, even moving it a few times to check for dexterity I'm sure, before letting go and shining a small smile.

"Dang, I'm good," he smirked.

I lightly pushed him away with a faux glare, my tiny smile giving away my belligerent gesture. Of course he was proud of his own handy work. But I am grateful.

"Thank you."

"No problem," He waved me off then went back to the cockpit and sat down at the wheel, tapping a bunch of screens then flicking switches.

"Ready for the fight I see. . . Tony?" Steve asked with a tired smile after briefly studying my super suit as well.

I gave a nod in response.

I think Steve sensed my discomfort to the three extra bodies present since I crossed my arms and my playful smile disappeared when Vision stepped past us. His gaze drifted from mine then he glanced at two people I knew were behind me.

"Taking off people, so buckle up!" Tony announced as he hit the switch for the ramp.

Soon enough it rose and closed shut, the metal locking mechanism resonating in my highly tuned ears. But not only were we taking off for Sokovia, we were locked in a flying prison with each other until we land. And I could already feel the irritation building in my once beatened bones for the twins now sitting amongst us, ready to fight alongside us.
