Daya
Clint shone this huge smirk before hopping up from off the floor and walking over to the control panel to my cell.
I slowly rose off the bench and walked over to the glass, skeptical that he was actually going to let me wander around without any "high tech" cuffs.
"Now, promise me that you won't try any funny business" he stated while pointing a finger at me.
"I promise" I replied while pressing my pinky to the glass.
"Good" is all he said before pressing the panel.
Suddenly, the glass door slid open the second I pulled my pinky back from it. I felt my lips curl into a grin at the thought of attaining freedom, but I tried not to seem mischievous about it.
I saw him squint his eyes at me with doubt etched over his face as I stepped out, and I couldn't hold back the grin anymore.
"Okay, so...... I can walk around and you know...be free?" I beamed at him as I gestured my hands waiving in front of me as if there was an invisible force field secretly keeping me within the cell's vicinity.
"Uh...No" he said dryly while cautiously walking towards me. "I can be your chaperone around the tower though, you know, 'cause my boss didn't really say that I couldn't do that" he stated with a smirk when he finally stopped in front of me with a friendly hand reached out for me to take.
I kindly accepted it and placed my hand in his, then he gently squeezed it and said "Come on, you got a whole tower to see" before tugging me out of the room.
I saw 2 guards posted outside the entrance of my cell, but they didn't really pay us any mind.
I'm not a "bad guy" that would try to break out and wreak havoc all over the place before making my great escape, no, I'm the "guy" that gets arrested by the most powerful team on the planet and is too lazy to make a scene to escape. Besides, I would be super dumb to try and break loose in the Avengers home, turf, crash pad, whatever you would call a building meant to assemble heroes...the HQ? Eh.
Clint and I were casually walking down the empty hallway, with his left arm intertwined with my right, like a true chaperone indeed.
"That door there, is one of the many doors I still need to figure out what's on the inside," he said while pointing towards the plain metallic door that we passed. "I swear Tony just added these extra rooms to confuse people" he muttered under his breath, but I heard it clear as day.
We continued strolling around in a thick cloud of silence, that is until we turned a corner and bumped into Natasha....
"What-" was all she could get out before Clint cut her off.
"Before you get mad, I'm only giving her a tour, then its straight back to the cell" the words rushed out of his mouth so quickly I thought he was speaking another language.
She glared at him because of his answer, then turned said glare toward me.
"Hey, don't get all judgy as if I coaxed him into doing this, OK?" I stated firmly, "It was his idea"
She then snapped her glare back to Clint, looking ready to beat him over the head with a bat. I felt bad for throwing him under the bus like that, so I bowed my head like a misbehaved puppy and raised my hands to her as if she was a police officer.
"You can take me back to my cell if you have to" I mumbled without looking up at her.
From my point of view, I could only see from her waist down and Clint's feet beside me, so I waited for some response or action.
