Third Person POV
The silence that hung low within the Quinjet bothered Daya. Her teammates- no, her family were rocked to their core. The only thing that reassured her or settled her nerves was what Clint had told Tony; that they were heading to a safe house. The fact that they were going somewhere that literally had the word "SAFE" in it already gave her a sense of relief. But in the meantime, she had to be there for Jake.
Since everyone was more or less silent and keeping to themselves, not interacting or showing signs of doing so, Daya felt like she could at least comfort her best friend since he would most likely welcome her presence more than the others. But never did she know that the others would enjoy a comforting hand on the shoulder or even a hug. In her efforts to calm or reassure Jake, she would try starting a conversation or say a cheesy joke, but after some time she figured that this was a situation that called for silence. A person that had their mind played with deserved a little peace to themselves to gather their thoughts. Jake never wanted to tell Daya what he had seen because he knew it was extremely personal. The thing that rocked him to his core didn't involve losing her- although that was one of the most replayed fears in his mind- it involved his self-conscious doubts and flaws.
Sometime after she had allowed the silence to suffocate her for the sake of the others, she let sleep overcome her for nearly the entirety of the trip. The team more or less did the same and caught a quick cat nap- when their minds slowly began to recuperate- until the feeling of the Quinjet losing altitude stirred them awake. Everyone felt it besides Daya.
"Daya... Daya... We landed..." Jake tried stirring her awake.
"Wake me... in two minutes..." She started but mumbled softer as she spoke.
Clint had begun leading everyone out with Natasha at his side, then Steve noticed how knocked out Daya was and the struggle Jake was going through of waking her. As Thor, Tony and Bruce followed behind Clint and Natasha; Steve turned back around to help get Daya.
"Need a hand?" He offered the teen.
Jake realized that he was offering to carry her like how he had before the other day and backed up, partially thankful for his help but somewhat suspicious of his paternal or more friendlier gestures towards Daya. The other guys didn't necessarily show as much of a care in THAT way towards her, but all of a sudden Steve was there acting fatherly...
He was beginning to catch on.
Steve took his action as the 'okay' and went to pick her up. She stirred somewhat but because she used up most of her energy for the battle- and part of the reason involved her not eating any of her food- she was out like a light. As Steve carried her out with Jake following behind, they caught up with the others and took notice of the surrounding land that resembled that of a farm. The barn next to the house gave a ton away and only confirmed their suspicions. When they neared the house, Thor studied the "strange" building and decided to ask his question:
"What is this place?"
"Safe house?" Tony retorted, and the two shared looks before entering behind Clint.
"Let's hope..." He muttered as he and Natasha walked into the home. "Honey... I'm home." He called as everyone wandered in behind him. Steve made sure to carry Daya properly through the doorways then quickly set her down on the couch carefully trying not to wake her. Jake went to move closer to her and ended up standing next to Natasha. The guys noticed and sent warm looks at the burnt out teen then turned to see Clint greeting a heavily pregnant lady. "Hi. Company. Sorry I didn't call ahead." He trailed with his explanation for the drop in but she was glad to see him, and all she could muster up to say in return was "Hey." She warmly shared a kiss with Clint, then the others- besides Natasha- were slightly confused yet pleasantly surprised.
