Third Person POV

Two days later...

"Hey man, sorry I couldn't get here any faster," Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, said as he and Steve shared a man hug.

Steve called him the second he got back into the tower that fateful day. He decided to meet him down on the ground floor rather than up in the lounge area since it looked like a CSI mad house of red tape and mugshots.

"It's fine... I know the flights can be a bit overbooked," He replied as they both pulled away from the hug. But both knew that wasn't the reason why he got there in the timespan that he did.

The two shared a look. Sam was following a lead on Bucky out of the state, but the trail went cold. Luckily for Steve and the team, it meant that he could help out with Daya's case.

"So... What are we looking at?" Sam asked as he walked alongside Steve toward the elevator, tugging his suitcase behind him containing his items... And his suit.

Steve told him the basics as to what happened, how they got a lead, and why he needed his help to find Daya. Its just that he didn't go into detail over the phone now that they know that Hydra could be tapping their lines, gaining any information regarding where they could be holding Daya.

"First off, this situation is a little... sensitive to the person's best friend..." Steve said timidly after pressing the elevator button, trying not to call Daya's name out loud.

Since Jake was taking it rough, and the others were trying their absolute best to help in anyway, he was beginning to get agitated due to the attention.

Natasha was especially worried because she noticed the refreshed cuts on his knuckles first... and the bags under his eyes... and the redness of dried tears... and absolute anxious exhaustion in his movements. It was obvious to the team that Jake was taking it hard, but every time they approached to offer some form of help, he'd turn down the offer with a stern "No".

"Oh," Sam said, understanding what Steve was hinting at. "So... Don't say her name because it would just make everything extremely awkward and tense? Gotcha," He stated as they both stepped into the elevator.

Steve gave him a thankful look for understanding then hit the floor number. He knew he could count on Sam to help him out, since Natasha is out of the game due to her broken arm.

"Thanks Sam... I don't know how to repay you..."

"Dude, don't." He cut him off. "You told me "thanks" ten times in that text, and I already told you its no problem... I just want to help out in some way if what you said is true... and I take your word either way that it is..." He then trailed, referring to Daya. "She really lost her memories like you-know-who?"

"Yeah..." Steve answered absentmindedly.

There was a pause. A short silence filled the elevator with a guilt ridden feeling. The topic made Steve feel... Uncomfortable. Then, as if on cue, the doors opened... And a whole other feeling filled the room.
