Third Person POV
"Sir! They found- AH!"
Kane was in the middle of eating his dinner when the yell through his walkie rang. His eyes darted to the now broken down doors in front of him, a handful of angry Avengers ready to pick a bone with him. Steve and Sam strut through the front, but around back was Jake and Clint. Tony and Thor were outside waiting, their jobs were to take care of the tiny security detail. Kane quickly jumped up from his chair, making a mad dash for the back door. Steve and Sam just watched as he was greeted by Jake's fist, the teen connecting it with his jaw and sending him to the floor in pain.
Kane muttered profanities to himself as he rubbed his jaw while laying on the ground. Jake stooped down and picked him back up by his shirt collar. "That was from Sanchez. This," he stated before punching him again, his head lolling to the side while he gripped him with his left hand, holding him still. "This is from me."
Kane started to chuckle at his mention of Sanchez. He hadn't done business with him in a while, and the fact that he was involved only for his arrest seemed funny to him. Ironic even. He grinned a bloody grin at Jake, his teeth stained with red before he spat on the ground.
"Good one."
Jake growled but eased up when the others got close, releasing the death grip on Kane's shirt with a forceful shove and causing him to stumble backwards. Steve and the others looked him over, surprised that Jake didn't do worse.
"Where's Strucker?" Steve questioned first while Kane sat up.
Kane let out an exasperated breath with an eye roll. "I have no idea."
"Bullshit." Jake growled, threatening to punch him again.
"Call it what you may but I am not lying. I have no idea where he is." Kane defended.
"Well what do you know?" Jake practically took over this interrogation.
Kane sighed and casted his tired gaze onto the busted concrete floor beneath him. He did know some things the Avengers would consider to be valuable in their quest to extinguish Hydras spark of an uprising, but he also considered the situation he's currently in to be embarrassing. Strucker had no need for Kane. He was just a lower ranking pawn in this game of chess. Strucker cut his ties with him the moment he considered the deal with Vic. Vic only offered a quarter of the merc money he would have gotten if he had handed Daya over to him first, then work some type of negotiation with Strucker and raise the price higher. But in Struckers case, if you want to get something done, you gotta do it yourself. Thus he only granted his freedom of escape from the Avengers tower, not completely off the grid nor the right to join his hierarchy. In essence, Kane screwed himself over from the beginning.
As Kane stared blankly at the ground trying to come up with a response that wouldn't make him look like a complete idiot, Jake grew impatient and went for his shirt collar again.
"Do I need to remind you of the taste of blood?" He snarled. "What do you know?"
"Strucker fed me to the wolves." He finally muttered still staring at the ground. Jake released his grip a little and allowed him to talk. "He saw through Vic and I's plan. He cut Vic's defense down and picked off most of his assets, reducing his whole empire to ash. He thought it would've been hilarious if I were to be released, only to get caught once more by you people," he stated while looking up at the team. "Because that is what you're going to do with me, aren't you? Just another bad guy thrown into the slammer until my days catch up to me."
