That's the funny reference name for one of the kittens I mentioned in the last A/N.

Enjoy!

Daya

When Natasha said "Now" I didn't think she meant "Right this second". She dragged me behind her until we caught up to Steve. I felt this weird pang in the pit of my stomach when I realized that she wanted Steve to know too.

"Steve! Hold up there, Rogers!" She called out to him.

He came to a halt and turned around to see her. And me. I saw the way he looked down at Natasha with a bit of a questioning look, and then to me, but with more of a 'okay I see where this is going' kinda look...

"What's up?" He asked.

I still can't believe he's over 70 years old... 96 years old if I do the math.

"Daya has something she would like to share..." She said while pushing me toward him a little.

I slowly turned to face her and gave her a 'what the heck are you doing!?' look. She caught on but just pushed me some more with a smirk dawning on her lips. Steve, on the other hand, crossed his arms and gave me a 'go on' look. Ah, the many facial expressions words can't sum up...

"I uh... Natasha was just telling me that you are actually over 70 years old. Is that true?" I squeaked awkwardly.

He looked a little embarrassed and shocked at my question, then he softened up his look real quick.

He laughed to himself while looking down at his feet. "She did, did she?" He then shone me a warm smile, looked over to her and then back to me, and I nodded in return. "Yes, I actually am over 70 years old." He answered with a slight joking tone.

"Oh, okay..." I didn't know what to say next. Gah! Curse you Natasha for setting me up in an awkward conversation!

"What Daya means to say is that she told me something. Something I think you want to hear." She stated with a sigh while looking back at me.

I looked around the hallway and avoided eye contact with him. Although he was kind of doing the opposite and trying to catch it.

"Yeah... H... H had me before... The man in the forest wrote it. He wrote 'they want to take control over you again'. Me again. I don't understand it though... I get the whole thing with Buc- your friend, but I was diagnosed, by a doctor, in a normal hospital, that I had amnesia." I trailed off on a tangent. "I guess that was a big fat lie too, mom."

I dropped my gaze to the finely polished floors without even noticing my vision blurred by tears. I blinked them back quickly before any could fall, but not before both of them could notice.

"Hey... It's okay, H can't get you here. Nor will they ever again. We will-"

"Protect me? How? If I'm not mistaken, there is an unidentified, mystery man running around shooting people. For them. Tony had a point, who knows what could have happened if you guys weren't there? I would have probably been snatched up by some weirdos in black and locked away in a dungeon for days until I break under their will and-"

"Take it easy! That's not what's going to happen, okay? Don't worry... And don't think that." He cut me off, after I cut him off, and grabbed a hold of my shoulders when I began spiraling.
