Jason’s POV –
Bryn.
That’s all I could think of right now. I shouldn’t jump to conclusions so quickly but who else could that have been? I’ve seen everyone in that house. Derek, Zoey, Tattiana, especially Jane. That just has to be her.
I should go back and kill her now…I think to myself, staring at the ground. I gripped the roof of the car, my veins beginning to show on my arms.
My eyes flicker from my car back to the house. I release a loud huff, turning to my car. I unlock the door and step inside, slamming the door shut behind me.
It could be Bryn, but maybe it isn’t. I can’t just kill the girl without being certain. But who the fuck could that be?
Frustration was getting the best of me; I tightly gripped the steering wheel. I look up, feeling as though my head were on the verge of exploding. I’d have to think this through. Take my time and plan something, not only this but Jane….I have to deal with her too.
I sit back roughly against the car seat, my chest rising and falling quickly from the aggravation.
I put my car key in the ignition, twisting it and letting the car growl to a start before pulling off onto the street. I wipe my mouth with my hand, licking my lips after, one hand on the steering wheel.
Let’s bring the new home first.
Bryn’s POV –
“We want Jason McCann, gone….” Jeff said, tapping his fingers on the desk.
Derek shifted in his seat, staring down at the floor. Even if he weren’t directly looking at me I knew he was waiting for me to say something. Something stupid I guess.
I looked over at the surveillance cameras before slowly blinking and looking at Jeff with deadly eyes.
“And why do we have to take care of that?” I say glumly.
Jeff nodded; he knew I’d reply with something like that. He rattled his finger nails on the desk, the tapping quickly irritating my ears but I let my expression flat and hard.
A shadow cascaded over Jeff’s eyes suddenly. His appearance taking a whole new look. He stared at me with ominous eyes; I waited patiently for his response, growing tired of his staring games.
“Someone in a mental institution would be smart enough to know why.” He finally said, pulling one of the drawers of the desk open.
“Cut the bullshit, why do we need to do your dirty work? McCann isn’t hard to track; you can easily take him out yourselves.” My voice was straight to the point, no emotions releasing from the words.
I felt just about ready to cut this guy’s head off.
Jeff pulled a blunt out of the dresser, followed by a lighter which he flicked a couple times before constructing a flame. He placed the blunt in his mouth, lighting it, taking a few puffs before releasing a line of smoke out of the corner of his mouth.
My phone vibrated in my pockets. I froze for a moment, finally remembering something that was supposed to go on today.
Jason and I planned today…together.
That must be him calling him but I can’t answer the phone. I relaxed in my seat, letting the phone vibrate before going off. I released a low breath of relief.
“We don’t need you to do the work. We need Bryn to do the work….and you Derek.” Jeff flicked the ashes off the cigar, pointing it at Derek.
