Bryn’s POV –
Four Weeks Later
Felt more like four years if I do say so myself. The weeks went by extremely slow and I’m surprised I survived the boredom long enough. The first week in the hospital, I remained with Jason and Blissity, visiting both of their rooms as often and fairly as possible. I didn’t need either of them thinking I was giving the other special treatment. I’d go from room to room, spending an hour so with either of them by talking, watching TV, maybe sleeping or playing a board game that the nurse had given us out of sheer kindness. I guess you could say the first week was pretty good.
The second week consisted of figuring out plans on what will be done after we’re out of the hospital. The doctors informed me that Blissity wouldn’t be a full on heroin addict as long as I keep her on top of her medication. Any slight change in the daily douses can alter everything. Also, Jason’s back would take some time to fully heal but he’d be back to his normal self in a few more weeks. His first burn, which he told me about, was only first degree burning, nothing serious but the burns on his back were at least second and close to third.
Third week consisted of me spending all my time with Jason due to Drew spending the rest of the week with Blissity. Chris, Damien, and Megan actually came to visit Jason and I was there to actually witness a few minor arguments. Of course I stepped in before it became too chaotic and the nurses would have to kick his friends out.
--
“Why did you invite them?” Jason scorns, grossing his arms over his chest abruptly.
I stare at him with annoyed eyes, “I didn’t but I told them about the situation. They’re just being good friends don’t go being a brat.”
“Today you were supposed to be helping me look for a house online since we can’t actually get up and do it.” He scoffs, unraveling his arms to lift up the tray of food on his lap.
Not that he ever ate it, I constantly had to go out to his favorite Fast Food restaurants and get him something worthy of his appetite.
“We’ll do it while they’re here. They won’t mind, just don’t ignore them if they ask you how you’re doing. Honestly, Jason I don’t want to hear the bickering.” I stand up and walk around the bed to grab Blissity’s laptop which Derek brought over from the house.
Although it was supposed to be for her personal use, I asked to borrow it just for this purpose.
The doorknob rattles a bit and soon there’s a ‘click’ sound and in walks Damien, Tattiana, Chris and Megan. Immediately the air grows thick with tension and I have to adjust the laptop in my hands just to ease away a small portion of it. Chris looks at me first and his eyes scold me before he walks further into the room and stands a few feet away from Jason’s bed. Megan walks over to me, followed by Tattiana and we exchange short embracements. Damien just stands awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck and trying his hardest to avoid any kind of eye contact with Jason who was staring at him with hard eyes.
I sigh loudly and walk over to Jason, placing the laptop on his lap and opening it.
“Is anyone going to talk?” I asked, looking over everyone.
Damien shrugs his shoulders and Chris simply leans back against the wall.
Megan looks at Jason and takes a long breath, “Are you feeling better?”
“I guess.” He shrugs.
I look at Jason and give him a hard stare. His rolls his eyes at me and looks at Megan one more time, clearing his throat.
