Jason’s POV –
I hear the door close, followed by the sound of Jane stepping off the front porch and down the walk way. I chuckle to myself, rubbing my bottom lip with my finger.
That girl is something else.
I grab my hat which was hanging on the edge of the couch. I spin it in my hands before putting it back on my head, adjusting it.
Hopefully Jane believed me when I told her I thought that girl at the door was Zoey. It seemed as though we were both lying to each other the entire time...that’s if she were lying this time.
She said she didn’t have a sister; I’d like to believe this but the girl at the door looked like a younger version of her. If she did have a sister, why couldn’t she just tell me? I’d worry about this less.
My eyebrows pull together as I think. I bit my lip; she said Bryn moved to a different area. Why is it so hard to believe this girl? But for now I’ll take her word for it. The girl at the door isn’t my target....for now.
I look up, hearing Chris at the front door, probably digging in his pants for the house keys. I straighten up my pants which were practically coming off after Jane had herself straddled on me. The door opens and Chris walks in, I hear bags.
“What’s up?” Chris said, walking into the living room, holding grocery bags in his hands.
“Jane was here.” I say, leaning forward.
Chris cocked his head to one side, looking at me suspiciously. “I’m guessing you guys fucked?”
I laughed, shaking my head, “Nope.” I say, popping the P. “She said she’s not ready.”
Chris walked down the hall of the living room to put the bags in the kitchen. He was laughing the entire walk. “How far did you guys get?”
“She wouldn’t let me take her jacket off. She’s such a fucking tease, it’s annoying.” I say, taking off my hat and running my hand through my hair.
Chris came back into the living room, looking at me with a deadpan expression on his face. I stared at him bleakly.
“Why’d she come over? Did you invite her?” Chris asked, taking a seat on the arm chair.
I place my hat on the center table, “No, when I told you I’d talk to you later it was because she showed up outside the house. She came to know what happened when I went to her house.”
“Did you tell her?”
“Well yeah,” I say, scratching the back of my head. “I told her I thought the girl at the door was Zoey, she seemed to buy it. She actually gave me more information than what I asked for.”
Chris seemed interested in the subject now, “Explain.”
“She told me Bryn moved to a different location, not exactly where but she doesn’t live with Jane anymore now that she knows me and Jane are getting close.” My hands were folding together as I spoke.
“So the girl you saw most likely isn’t Bryn.” Chris asked, rubbing his chin.
“That’s what I’m assuming so for now I’ll forget about that girl....I asked Jane if she had a sister considering the girl at the door looked just like her and she told me no. Now either that girl just happens to look like her or Jane is lying.”
Chris let out a deep breath, this was getting complicated. I grinded my teeth together as I continued to think over this discussion.
“Is Jane going to be here for your birthday? I mean you know how many girls are going to be here right?” Chris said.
