Philip Lester couldn't see. He has never been able to. His life was lived through sound and touch.
Phil Lester was blind.
It wasn't the hardest thing in the world. He managed to get used to it quickly. In fact, the story behind it was pretty childish. But that's for another time. Phil had recently started his junior year in high school. His side hobby of YouTube started to grow and he was happy for this year.
He was in one of his classes when he heard the door open to the classroom. "Nice of you to join us." The teacher said, unamusement in her voice. Phil heard a slight chuckle from the other boy as he heard footsteps stop next to him. The boy had sat next to him.
Phil looked at him. Pointless, he thought to himself. You can't see him anyway, why try? Phil sighed at the thoughts before he heard a voice talking his way. It was the boy. "Um... is there a reason you're staring at me?" He said confused.
Phil could feel his face get warm from embarrassment. "Sorry, I didn't realize." he muttered, quickly looking back to what he hoped was his desk. The boy smiled. "I'm Dan, what about you?" he asked him. Phil looked up slightly. "I'm Phil." he said, smiling at Dan. "Well Phil, maybe during lunch you could show me around?" he asked cheekily. Phil nodded and smiled to himself.
It had been a few months since they met and Dan had long since found that Phil was blind. He happily helped Phil with daily tasks and he was impressed at how good he was at managing himself. Phil had taken a liking to the boy, more than friends. Dan could notice it at times, but never acknowledged it. Dan thought it was cute.
Dan had invited Phil over to study for an exam the following morning. Phil excitedly agreed. Dan drove them to his place after school. They walked into the house and the scent of cookies hit Phil's nose. "Hey mum." Dan said, walking into what Phil guessed was the kitchen. Phil followed the sound of his footsteps. "Hello dear, I'm guessing this is Phil? Very nice to meet you." she said warmly. Phil smiled and he and Dan walked upstairs to Dan's room.
Dan closed the door and plopped onto the bed. Phil stood by the door awkwardly but Dan pulled his hand closer to the bed. Phil blushed at Dan's soft touch. Dan took notice and blushed himself. He had already admitted to himself that he liked Phil more than just a friend. Tonight, he planned to make Phil his.
Oblivious to Phil, Dan leaned in close to him. Phil felt soft lips hit his own and a nervous but warm feeling sprouted inside him. Butterflies found their way into his chest. He could feel sparks between him and Dan. And he was content.
Dan pulled away, face the color of fire. Phil knew his was as well. "What-" Dan cut him off with a whisper. "Sorry, I shouldn't have done that." Dan said. Phil shook his head and laid his head on Dan's shoulder. "It was amazing."
Phil couldn't see, that was obvious. Though he would swear he saw sparks between them.
