Phil Lester was a prince of the large and powerful kingdom of Celebia. He was adored and pampered, given everything he could've possibly wanted. Of course, he grew up thinking he was entitled to everything because of this.
It took him a long time to realize that he can't just get everything handed to him.
This tale begins with a peasant boy applying to work at the castle. Workers were given rooms in the castle and food, clothing, etc instead of money. It was fair.
The peasant boy got the job, considering the castle needed a lot of workers. His job however, was an important one.
He was to be the prince's servant, and basically do whatever the prince asked him to. For a while, it was fine. He would do chores that would take him forever to complete, but he could deal with it.
But things started to change when Phil looked at his servant, Dan, in a different light.
Phil would adore observing him, especially when he worked. Dan wouldn't dare to say anything. But then, even this changed into a less innocent thing.
He started observing his servant's lips, how full and pouty they would look when he was given a time-consuming chore. He observed how plump they looked, and he found himself wishing to feel those lips against his.
He felt like he was deserving, and that he should get the honor simply because of who he was. Besides, Dan couldn't disobey an order.
The first time Phil ordered him to kiss him, Dan immediately said no. This of course hurt his ego, but Phil knew how to get what he wanted.
"If you don't do it, I'll tell my father you disobeyed me," Phil said, maliciously. He didn't care that Dan didn't want to. In fact, he thought Dan should be ecstatic he got the chance to kiss him.
With a frown and a look of annoyance on his face, Dan walked over to his master and leaned in to kiss him. Their lips barely touched before Dan backed away.
"I did it," he said, wiping his lips on the sleeve of his jacket.
"Whatever," Phil replied, rolling his eyes. He was annoyed, though. He wanted more than that, but Dan was right. He had done what he asked.
Dan finished cleaning Phil's room before leaving, not looking back or saying anything. This showed he was upset. Normally, Dan said goodbye to him, in order to be polite.
But Dan was upset enough to not care about his manners, which Phil noted.
But Phil didn't admit to himself that he did something wrong.

Visitors from another kingdom came to Celebia, and they had rooms in the castle and servants to attend to them.
Due to the massive work load, even Dan who was normally only to attend to Phil had to serve some knights from the other kingdom.
Phil was a bit miffed about it, but he could deal with that. At least Dan still had to serve him. Though, Phil did take it upon himself to give Dan less chores to do during this time.
What really got him upset is that the free time Dan does have was spent with a knight he befriended. The knight, Sir Drew, was more like Dan. He was quiet, calm, and nice.
Phil knows it's not his right to have Dan spend time with him for things other than work, but he still got jealous.
When they did talk quietly while Dan was working, Dan would sometimes talk about Sir Drew, and eventually it got on Phil's nerves.
