Dan Howell had finally gotten home from school. The first thing he did once he got home was go on his computer.
He probably should've started his homework, but Dan isn't really student of the year.
Anyways, once he was on the computer, he immediately opened up Skype, and saw the green tick next to his friend's name and got excited.
Who was this friend you may ask? Well, that's an interesting story.
Dan had really liked AmazingPhil, who was a YouTuber, so he stalked him. Then one day he actually got noticed and they became friends, best friends actually.
Maybe a bit more.
Dan doesn't really know. It's confusing for him. He likes what they have now, so it's good enough.
He pressed the call button next to Phil's contact. It only rang once before Phil picked it up, making Dan's heart beat a little faster.
"Hello Dan," Phil greeted with a soft smile, which Dan saw a few moments later once Phil's webcam loaded.
Dan turned his on and smiled back. "Hello," Dan saluted.
"So, how was your day of torture?," Phil joked.
Dan groaned, "Stupid and annoying. I hate school."
Phil giggled, and his tounge flicked out of the corner of his mouth, "Doesn't everyone?"
Dan laughed too, "True."
They then sat in a comfortable silence, just looking at each other.
Dan sat his chin on his hand as he looked at Phil fondly.
He also couldn't help but imagine what would happen if Phil and him ever met up in real life.
It honestly sounded like a far-away, impossible dream, but it seemed probable at the same time.
He just really wanted to meet him. Talking through a computer screen is a lot different than talking to somebody in real life.
Not to mention, both of their webcams were kinda shitty. Sure, Dan could admire Phil's looks when he watches his videos, but it would be better if it was in real life.
Especially those eyes. They were bright in Skype and in his videos, but Dan wished he could see them up close.
You could go swimming in those eyes...
"Dan?"
Dan looked up, shaking off his thoughts. "Yeah?"
Phil bit his lip. "You just looked really out of it. A bit dreamy," he said.
"Oh."
"You're not tired, are you?" Phil asked, concern in his tone.
Dan scoffed. "I'm a night owl, I'm actually offended you suggested that I need sleep. Sleep is for the weak."
Phil laughed. "Right."
Silence yet again.
"Do you have homework?"
Dan rolled his eyes. "It's almost seems like you want to get rid of me."
"No," Phil said. "I just want to make sure you have nothing to do other than talk to me."
Dan answered, "Well, I do have homework. But it's not due until Monday."
"Hm."
Comfortable silence...
Phil spoke up suddenly, "I want to meet you one day."
Dan smiled. "Great. It's mutual."
"I know it is. You're the one who stalked me."
Dan rolled his eyes again, and he smirked. "Don't get cocky now and let it go to your head."
Phil laughed. So did Dan. Phil promised, "I'll try not to."
The conversation started taking off and there was not a spare moment to talk about anything they mentioned before.
Phil promised to himself that night that he would meet Dan one day. He had reasons that were similar to Dan's on why he wanted to meet up.
Most importantly, he wanted to see the boy he was falling in love with in person.
And so he did, on October 19th, 2009.
